Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiara.
Hi Tiara, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been an athlete all my life, so the world of arts and creativity is relatively new to me. What drew me in was the freedom of expression — the ability to take something that begins as a thought or a feeling and find a way to bring it to life.
I’ve always been the person pulling out a camera to capture moments along the way. Over time, I realized that photography gives us something incredibly special, a way to freeze time. A moment that would otherwise pass becomes something we can hold onto and revisit, even though we can never get that exact moment back.
For me, creativity is about capturing those experiences — the first-time thrills, the views, the emotions, the little moments, and the memories that make life meaningful. There’s something powerful about being able to preserve not just what a moment looked like, but how it felt.
Simply put, I fell in love with photography unexpectedly.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges has been learning to trust my creative eye. There isn’t always a right or wrong answer in art, and that can be uncomfortable when you’re used to measuring progress through performance and results.
I’m learning that creativity is a journey, not something you master overnight. Every photograph, every experience, and every new concept births a new creative idea. And honestly, that’s what makes it exciting. I’m still discovering what I’m capable of creating.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work is rooted in editorial and lifestyle photography, with a growing passion for videography. I’m especially inspired by visual storytelling that feels authentic yet intentional — capturing not just how a moment looks, but how it feels.
I think what sets me apart is that I’m not necessarily looking at a photograph as just a beautiful image. I’m thinking about the feeling behind it and the story it will tell years from now. I want my work to make someone pause, remember, feel something, or see a familiar moment in a different way.
What I’m most proud of is having the courage to step outside of the world I’ve always known. As an athlete, I was comfortable in a world where I understood the rules and knew how to measure success. Creativity has challenged me to enter a space where there are no clear boundaries or formulas. I’m proud that I allowed myself to explore that.
I naturally approach my work with a sense of discipline, focus, and intention. But photography has also taught me to slow down and pay attention — to notice the details, the light, the perspective, and the moments that might otherwise pass by unnoticed.
Ultimately, I’m most interested in creating something that feels real — something that captures a moment in time that can’t be recreated. To me, that is the beauty of photography — long after the moment is gone, the feeling can still remain.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
The best way to reach me is through my social media (studioh.px) (justduan_) or booking site. I’m always excited to meet new people, exchange ideas, and see where a conversation can lead. Some of the most meaningful creative experiences can come from simply saying, “What if we tried this?”
If you have an idea, I encourage you to reach out. I may not have done it before — and that might be exactly why we should do it.
