Rising Stars: Meet Troy Wood of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Troy Wood.

Hi Troy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story start in Las Vegas, Nevada, where I was born a little over 39 years ago my family traveled around a lot as a child. It was incredible to see all of the country. I moved to Dallas 1999 and grew up here I started painting just outside of high school and quickly fell in love with it. I’ve now been a professional artist for a little over 20 years and I really just love exploring the creative , part of being an artist. There’s no limit to your imagination and what you can do. I love creating abstract artwork where people look at it and see something completely different for me. It makes me very happy outside of that. I’ve been in the hospitality industry, and I’m just dipping my toes into the insurance industry. I am blessed and happy husband father I really am just such a happy person and I love sharing my happiness with everyone.!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being a professional artist is not an easy task. There are months and days that will go buy little interests shown in your work, and that can be very hard. Every artist deals with that there is a group that I am friends with called a SODA group. Acronym for society of depressed artist and a local group here in Dallas and they’re wonderful friends of mine but for me the biggest thing when creating artwork for people is creating a budget that works for them. Everybody has different amounts that they can afford with Art, I’ve given away dozens of canvases for charity Events special days, and even birthdays. I really love being able to do that.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
A little bit about my work I call it subconscious and realism. I don’t think about anything as I paint it. That is my own special style. I am most proud of a website that I have created. You can take my Art and put it on anything really you can imaging, You can change the colors and anything you would like to do to it. You can also put it on coffee, logs, yoga, mats, shower, curtains, blankets, socks, hoodies really the list is gonna be forever growing, and artwork will be forever submitted on their so there’s always new stuff growing. There’s also going to be an archival gallery on the website so you can see how my Art has progressed over the years.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
I feel very strongly what matters most to me is having integrity and positive energy in every thing that you do. I can confirm completely that positive outlook positive energy can create the most positive life now that’s not to say negative things happen, Negative things happen but if you let those instances determine your outlook on life, then you’re only ever be in a negative condition. Myself I live my life by being a positive person so that that positivity and goodness can be spread back out into the world!
