Rising Stars: Meet Tuyana Chimitova of Dallas, TX

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tuyana Chimitova

Hi Tuyana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey as an artist and designer began in the small, picturesque village of Aginskoe in Eastern Siberia, where I was born and raised. From a young age, I was drawn to art, constantly sketching and exploring colors. My passion led me to Buryat State University, where I graduated with distinction in Decorative and Applied Arts and Computer Design in 2015.

After university, I moved to the U.S. I started as a freelance designer, taking on branding projects, and eventually worked on one of my most significant design projects—creating visuals for the Alexander Delacqua brand.

Over the years, I’ve balanced my love for fine art and graphic design. My arts explore emotions and abstract forms, and I’ve exhibited my work in various spaces. As a designer, I specialize in branding, packaging, and marketing materials, helping businesses bring their visions to life.

Today, I continue to grow as an artist, expanding my reach and aiming to make a name in both the art and design worlds. My goal is to create work that resonates deeply with people and to establish a strong creative community where artists can support and uplift each other.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been an easy road. Moving to the U.S. was a big challenge—new culture, language, and rebuilding my career from scratch. There were financial struggles and moments of doubt, but I never stopped creating. Balancing fine art and design was also difficult, but over time, I learned how to manage both. Every challenge made me stronger and brought me to where I am today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an artist and graphic designer specializing in contemporary art and branding. My art explore emotions, abstract forms, and cultural heritage, while my design work focuses on creating impactful visuals for brands. I take pride in blending artistic expression with commercial design, making each project meaningful and unique. What sets me apart is my ability to merge fine art with modern design, creating work that resonates on both an emotional and professional level.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck has played a role in my journey, but I believe success is more about perseverance and hard work. Moving to the U.S. was a challenge, and while I’ve had moments of good luck—meeting the right people or finding unexpected opportunities—those moments only mattered because I was prepared to seize them. At the same time, I’ve faced setbacks that some might call bad luck, but I see them as lessons that pushed me to grow. In the end, I believe we create our own luck by staying committed, open to opportunities, and constantly improving our craft.
