Today we’d like to introduce you to Uchenna Anene.

Hi Uchenna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey into building Yoneti started with a simple frustration.

Shortly after COVID, around the time things were reopening, I went to get a haircut and found myself waiting much longer than expected. My barber almost always had one or two people ahead of me, even when I thought I had timed it right. What should have been a quick visit turned into extended waiting, and it made me realize how inefficient service scheduling still was.

As a registered nurse, I’ve always valued time and structure. In healthcare, timing is everything. That experience at the barbershop sparked a bigger question: why isn’t booking more transparent and predictable? Why can’t clients see real-time availability? Why can’t there be more flexibility within a professional’s schedule?

That’s how Yoneti was born.

Yoneti is built around the idea that time matters. It allows users to book services with clarity, manage appointments efficiently, and even swap appointments within the same professional’s schedule creating flexibility without disrupting the business. The goal is simple: turn “busy” into “easy” for both professionals and clients.

What started as a personal inconvenience became a platform focused on respecting people’s time because every appointment represents someone’s journey.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road at all.

I didn’t come from a tech background, and I don’t code. When I started Yoneti, I didn’t fully understand app architecture, development cycles, or the technical depth required to build a scalable platform. What I did have was conviction about the problem and a clear vision of the solution.

The biggest challenge wasn’t building the app, it was building the right team.

I had to learn how to identify talent, build strategic relationships, communicate vision clearly, and stay patient through multiple development phases. There were misunderstandings, delays, financial pressure, and moments where things didn’t go as planned. Not every partnership worked out the way I expected, and some lessons were expensive.

But those experiences shaped me.

They forced me to grow as a leader to think long-term, to ask better questions, to protect the integrity of the product, and to surround myself with people who believed in the mission. I learned that you don’t need to write the code to build something impactful you need clarity, resilience, and the ability to bring the right people together.

Every struggle refined the vision. Yoneti today is stronger because the road wasn’t easy.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a healthcare professional turned tech founder. By training, I’m a registered nurse. By mindset, I’m a systems thinker and builder.

What I specialize in is identifying inefficiencies in everyday systems especially around time, coordination, and service delivery and creating structured solutions that make those systems work better for real people. Yoneti is a reflection of that. It’s a platform designed to simplify how professionals and clients connect, book, and manage services.

I’m known for being resilient and solution-driven. I don’t come from a coding background, but I’ve built strong strategic relationships and teams that help bring vision into reality. I focus heavily on structure, clear booking rules, transparent pricing logic, fairness on both sides of a marketplace because I believe sustainable platforms are built on trust, not hype.

What I’m most proud of isn’t just launching an app. It’s having the courage to pursue a large vision outside of my original profession and staying committed through setbacks, financial pressure, and the steep learning curve of building in tech without being technical myself.

What sets me apart is perspective. My background in healthcare taught me discipline, empathy, and the value of every minute. Yoneti isn’t just a booking platform, it’s built around a philosophy: Your Journey, Your Time. Every appointment represents someone’s story, and I approach product decisions with that in mind.

I don’t just want to build software. I want to build systems that respect people’s time and elevate the professionals who serve them.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something that might surprise people is that I’m naturally very introspective.

From the outside, people see the entrepreneur, the nurse, the founder building a tech platform. What they don’t always see is how much reflection goes into my decisions. I spend a lot of time thinking about purpose, long-term impact, and whether what I’m building actually improves people’s lives.

Another surprising thing is that I didn’t grow up in tech and I don’t code. Many assume that because I lead a technology platform, I must be deeply technical. In reality, my strength is vision, systems thinking, and bringing the right people together. I’ve learned that leadership in tech isn’t about writing the code, t’s about understanding the problem deeply and assembling a team that can execute the solution.

And maybe most surprising of all: Yoneti started from something as simple as being frustrated while waiting too long for a haircut. What looked like a small inconvenience became the seed of something much bigger.
