Rising Stars: Meet Xavier W of Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Xavier W.

Hi Xavier, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been in the content creation space before the term “content creator” or “influencer” was coined and I’ve had many social media endeavors both personally and professionally. In 2020, when TikTok was known as a dancing app for kids, I started posting career and college applications advice. Several copycats followed and I wasn’t interested in posting the same content as everyone else. I decided to go on hiatus, but was still featured in a report shared at the World Economic Forum for my work with early careers. Eventually, a friend suggested I start posting lifestyle content. At the time, I was working in corporate strategy with long and unpredictable hours. I didn’t have time to waste on “aesthetic” overproduced videos. I went back to my teaching roots. Today, I educate my audience on luxury and social mobility. I teach them how to actually get my life instead of just showing it. It’s more aligned with me and it’s created a great online community of ambitious individuals.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There’s no blueprint for me to follow. For both of my main niches, I was the first to start doing it. My current lane is almost completely against the grain of typical lifestyle influencers – I’m not trying to be relatable, your best friend, or say every product is the best thing I’ve ever tried. It’s easy to do what everyone else is doing. It’s a longer and harder path to get rewarded for being different.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a lifestyle influencer / critic that teaches my audience about luxury and achieving social mobility. While most lifestyle influencers only offer visuals and advertisements, I discuss real-life topics rooted in sociology and human behavior mixed in with commentary on luxury experiences and products. I love that my work captures the full range of my interests under one roof – travel, personal development, cigars, fashion, and cultural commentary. Aside from that, I’ve been a part of three reports presented at the World Economic Forum – two of which I wrote, one which I was featured in for my work as an influencer. I also created, produced, and was featured in a global marketing campaign supporting one of the reports.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Around what seemed like midnight but was probably 8pm, my dad took me out for a walk around our resort at Disney. We passed by a candy store and he actually let me get a tube full of sugar, then we went to the “bar” back at the hotel and got two brownie ice cream sundaes back to back. I don’t remember anything else from that trip.
