Rising Stars: Meet Yandel Omar of Puerto Rico

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yandel Omar.

Hi Yandel, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m a 20-year-old entrepreneur from Puerto Rico who began my journey in graphic design in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many people at the time, I found myself exploring new opportunities online, and that’s when I discovered digital design. I started with just an iPad and curiosity, not knowing how far it could take me.

Over time, I taught myself how to design flyers, logos, websites, and complete brand identities. What began as a hobby quickly turned into a business as I continued to improve my skills and attract clients who valued high-quality, strategic design. Through consistency, learning, and dedication, I was able to scale my business into a full-time career.

Since starting my design business, I’ve generated over six figures in revenue, hired my first employee, and built a company that provides consistent income while allowing me to work independently. My business has also given me opportunities to travel, invest in professional equipment, and even relocate to different states — all because of the power of digital entrepreneurship.

Today, I focus on providing premium graphic design services for CEOs, entrepreneurs, and professionals who understand the importance of strong branding. I specialize in working with industries such as tax professionals, realtors, beauty professionals, and credit specialists who want their brands to reflect professionalism and credibility.

Looking ahead, my next step is expanding into education and mentorship. I’m passionate about teaching other creatives and entrepreneurs how to build profitable businesses, just as I did. My goal is not only to grow my own company but also to help others create opportunities for themselves through design and digital entrepreneurship.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Getting to where I am today definitely wasn’t easy. Building my business required a lot of sacrifice, including sleepless nights, constant promotion, and a great deal of persistence. In the early stages, I often worked with clients who didn’t always align with the type of work or vision I had for my brand, but those experiences helped me learn how to better position my services and define my ideal clientele.

Like many creatives, I’ve also faced challenges such as people attempting to copy or mimic my work. Instead of letting that discourage me, it pushed me to continue evolving, improving my skills, and strengthening my brand identity so that my work stands out even more.

Those challenges ultimately helped shape the business I have today and taught me the importance of resilience, consistency, and staying focused on long-term growth.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a graphic designer and creative entrepreneur specializing in premium branding and digital design for professionals and business owners. My work primarily focuses on designing high-quality flyers, logos, websites, and complete brand identities that help businesses present themselves in a more professional and elevated way online.

Over the years, I’ve built a reputation for working with CEOs, entrepreneurs, and service-based professionals who understand the value of strong branding. I frequently collaborate with industries such as tax professionals, realtors, beauty professionals, credit specialists, and other entrepreneurs who are serious about investing in high-quality design to grow their businesses.

What sets my work apart is my attention to detail and my overall design style. I focus heavily on creating designs that feel polished, strategic, and visually impactful while still aligning with each client’s brand and message. I’m very intentional about every element — from typography and layout to color balance and composition — because I believe great design isn’t just about making something look good, it’s about creating visuals that communicate professionalism and credibility.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I’m actually a self-taught designer, so I didn’t necessarily have a traditional mentor when I started. Most of what I know came from spending countless hours learning on my own, experimenting with design, studying other creatives, and constantly improving my skills through practice and research.

One thing that helped me a lot early on was being intentional about the people I surrounded myself with. Even if someone wasn’t officially my mentor, I would pay attention to individuals who were already doing what I aspired to do and learn from how they approached their work, marketed themselves, and ran their businesses. In today’s digital world, you can learn a lot simply by observing, asking thoughtful questions, and staying curious.
