We recently had the chance to connect with Sierra Barnes and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Sierra , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
My mornings are something I truly love and cherish. I believe they set the tone for the entire day, giving you the opportunity to set your intentions and align your energy. My morning routine is one of my favorite parts of the day—it’s my time to connect with myself and start on a positive note.
It includes pulling an oracle card, meditating, gratitude journaling (along with another list I call my Self-Love Gratitude List, where I write down things I love and appreciate about myself), positive affirmations, morning pages (free-flow journaling of whatever’s on my mind), reading, and exercise. These moments allow me to fill my own cup and nurture my mind, body, and soul.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am an artist, writer, blogger, and proud brain tumor thriver. My journey has shaped every part of who I am and inspires everything I create. As an artist, I create abstract and abstract figurative pieces, each infused with crystals like rose quartz and amethyst. Every painting comes with an original handwritten poem on the back, making it as personal and soulful as the art itself. I also create Spirit Led Art—custom pieces guided by intuition, oracle card pulls, and crystal infusions—crafted with the intention of delivering exactly the energy and message the recipient most needs. Aside from original art, I also have a few art prints, greeting cards, and stickers with my art printed on them.
I create intuitively—allowing colors, textures, and techniques to flow naturally—while setting positive intentions with each piece. My intention is that my art not only uplifts a space visually, but also elevates its energy. Creating is a form of meditation for me, one that has carried me through some of the most challenging times in my life.
Beyond my art, I share my story through my blog and social media, offering a mix of lifestyle, wellness, and spirituality content, as well as my ongoing journey as a brain tumor thriver. At the heart of everything I do is a single purpose: to inspire, uplift, and remind others of the strength, beauty, and resilience that lives within us all.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Wholeheartedly, I have to say my mom and my dad. I’ve been incredibly lucky and deeply grateful to have their support in everything I’ve done and continue to do. I know not every creative person has the encouragement I’ve been lucky to have, and I never take it for granted.
Growing up, my parents nurtured both me and my creativity, always making me feel that my passions were worth pursuing. My mom is my best friend—we’re extremely close—and she continues to be one of my biggest cheerleaders. My dad was also one of my greatest supporters. Before he passed away in 2016, he would proudly tell people, “My daughter is an artist.” Even though he’s no longer physically here, I feel his presence every day and notice incredible signs that remind me he’s still with me, cheering me on from the other side.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I guess this is a little more than one thing. But, I would say: don’t give up—no matter how hard things get or what challenges you face. Even when people judge you from a young age, remember this: you are beautiful, you are talented, you are creative. You are worthy, and you are more than enough.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Like I’ve said before, one of my main goals is to help and inspire others. Every piece I create and everything I share comes from that intention. In a way, I guess you could say that’s my never-ending project—one I’m honored to work on every single day.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I truly feel—and know—that I’m doing what I was born to do. This is my purpose and my calling, and I believe we all have one. For me, it’s something that sparks an indescribable joy, a feeling I can’t quite put into words, but one I wish everyone could experience. I feel completely in my element, whether I’m creating my art or sharing parts of my journey, and that joy fuels everything I do.
