Stevan Hass of DFW on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Stevan Hass shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Stevan, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
There will always be moments or opportunites where jumping right in seems like the move, but I always try to take a step back and re-evaluate the situation just a little longer, if possible.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Most of you know me, but my journey started in 2003 and Hass Productions has been providing print goods to the masses since 2005. I pride myself on being able to offer so many services with quick turnaround times. That gives my clients time to get their goods organized and ready to sell or distrubite. I’ve been fortunate enough to be apart of some amazing events, groups and organizations in DFW and am always looking for the next opportunity to help my friends and customers grow!

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
Over the years, I have worked with and for some of the most knowledgable people in my industry. I’ve picked up bits and pieces of things they have taught me and integrated them into a workflow that works best for me. This industry will also teach you to continue to teach yourself, find new ways to get better or faster, more efficient. If you aren’t learning something new everyday, you’re gonna get passed up! There are a million ways to do the same things, it never hurts to know how to do a few different options, just in case situations aren’t ideal and you need to adapt.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Being in the public eye has never been a strong suit of mine. Over the years, I have learned to not be so reserved when stepping in that spotlight. The people I have worked for have given me opportunites to work on being so “out there” publically, which makes things a bit easier! You won’t find me hosting events or on a microphone, but you can’t go most places without hearing or seeing the Hass Productions name.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
What you see is what you get! When you catch me outside, I am usually at an event or local show for some friends, which means I am in entertainment mode and ready to mingle! Being out and about with my peeps is what it’s all about, so I do my best to bring my outgoing personality and engage. Everyone has different sides to their personality, but the ones I show my friends is the realest of real I can offer and I hope they know I give them the real me as much as possible!

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
That’s one of my calling cards, going above and beyond… giving 110% on every job or for every client. There are some who notice and will point out the effort, and there are some who don’t. Not everyone needs to go out of their way to recognize the effort, because that’s part of the job and what I offer. The times when acknowledgment is given make it that much sweeter for sure.
