Brittany Callahan shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Brittany, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me is all about balance, purpose, and impact. I wake up every morning focused on two things: my family and my mission to help people transform their financial lives. My day starts with being “mom”—making sure my boys are set up for success with school and sports. Once that’s done, I transition into business mode, where I’m meeting with clients, creating strategies for credit and tax solutions, and mentoring others who are walking the same path I once walked.
No two days are ever the same, but the common thread is service. Some days I’m deep in client work, celebrating score increases and approvals. Other days I’m planning events, coaching my team, or finding new ways to educate the community about credit, finances, and building generational wealth.
In the evenings, I shift back into wife and mom mode—family dinners, sports practices, and quality time at home. When the house is quiet, I often circle back to planning, dreaming, and putting the next steps in motion.
It’s a full plate, but it’s also a full life. I wouldn’t trade it for anything, because every part of my day connects to the bigger vision of leaving a legacy for my family and creating opportunities for others
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Brittany Callahan, and I’m the founder of Kobra Financial, a credit repair and financial education company dedicated to helping individuals and families break free from financial struggles and step into financial freedom. My journey started with my own story—I experienced repossession, living paycheck to paycheck, and the feeling of being stuck. But by learning how to repair and rebuild my credit, I completely transformed my life and opened the door to opportunities I never thought were possible.
That experience inspired me to create a business that does more than just dispute negative items—it educates, empowers, and equips people with the tools to build lasting financial success. What makes Kobra Financial unique is that we don’t just focus on quick fixes; we focus on mindset, strategy, and long-term results. We’ve helped hundreds of clients increase their scores, qualify for homes, cars, and business funding—and most importantly, regain confidence and peace of mind.
Right now, I’m not only working with clients one-on-one, but I’m also expanding our programs to help business owners establish business credit and leverage it for growth. At the heart of everything I do is my passion for showing people that no matter where they start, they can rewrite their financial story—because I’m living proof of that.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that has shaped me the most is my relationship with God. My faith has been the foundation of who I am, how I live, and how I serve others. It’s what carried me through my lowest moments—when I faced financial struggles, repossession, and times when I didn’t see a way forward. It’s also what reminds me daily that my purpose is bigger than me.
Through that relationship, I’ve learned resilience, patience, and vision. I see myself as someone who has been entrusted with experiences, both the highs and the lows, so that I can turn them into lessons and tools to help others. My faith keeps me grounded, yet pushes me to dream bigger and believe that with God, nothing is impossible.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes—there was a time when life felt so heavy that giving up seemed easier than pushing forward. I remember when my car was repossessed, and I was working full-time but still struggling to make ends meet. I felt embarrassed, defeated, and questioned if I would ever get ahead. In that moment, it would have been easy to throw in the towel and accept that struggle was just my reality.
But instead, I made the choice to fight back. That low point became the turning point. I leaned on my faith, started repairing my own credit, and step by step, I rebuilt—not just my finances, but my confidence and vision for the future. Looking back, I realize that the moments when I almost gave up were actually the moments God was preparing me for greater. Today, I use that story to remind my clients that their setback can become their setup for a stronger comeback.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the credit repair industry is that there are quick fixes or “overnight results.” The truth is, repairing credit is a process—it takes consistency, strategy, and patience. Too many companies sell the dream of a 30-day miracle, when in reality, lasting results come from educating clients and helping them change financial habits, not just deleting a few items from a report.
Another lie is that everyone’s journey is the same. Every credit file tells a different story, and what works for one person may not work for another. That’s why a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t truly serve clients. At Kobra Financial, I focus on personalized strategies, education, and empowerment, because I believe credit repair isn’t just about fixing a score—it’s about transforming a mindset and creating long-term financial freedom.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
I am absolutely doing what I was born to do. For me, this work isn’t just a career—it’s a calling. Helping people rebuild their credit, restore their confidence, and rewrite their financial story comes from a place deep within me, because I’ve walked that same path. Nobody told me to do this—I was led here through my own experiences and my faith in God showing me that my pain had a purpose.
Every time I see a client close on their first home, get approved for a car, or finally breathe easier because their credit is no longer holding them back, I know I’m operating in my purpose. This is bigger than me—it’s about creating generational change and leaving a legacy.
