Denise Wolford shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Denise, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Finding underprivileged families and help meet their needs.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Denise Wolford CEO/Pastor
My organization is All Women Marching For Hope “against domestic violence “ my church is Bread From Heaven Christian Center. “Spreading the gospel to whosoever will listen”
My journey started over 50 years ago, I remember seeing a need and searching for a solution to get it solved. My passion for hurting people has always been a part of my life just never knew it would be on the domestic violence side. Over the past 15 years I’ve been in the trenches trying to shed light on such a difficult issue to speak about; my take on this is a closed mouth will never get fed…Join the fight to help pump the brakes on Domestic & Teen Violence.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
May 2,1981 when I left home & graduated.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You was Courageous
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Helping hurting people and not about numbers but if I can save 1 from an abusive relationship my heart smiles.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
She put her best foot forward and her word is her bond….If she said it she would do it.
