We’re looking forward to introducing you to Emily Aguilar. Check out our conversation below.
Emily, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are usually a mix of chaos and love. I’m getting kids out the door, finding missing shoes, packing lunches — all while trying to sneak in coffee and a quick check of my calendar. It’s not glamorous, but it sets the tone: I’m good at juggling, I can pivot quickly, and I find little moments to laugh in the middle of it. Once everyone’s settled, I finally get that deep breath and shift into work mode.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Emily Aguilar, founder of Bubbles and Marquee Events. My company specializes in creating memorable event experiences with big, bold marquee rentals. Beyond the business, I’m a proud mom and entrepreneur who believes in finding joy in the details and making every celebration unforgettable.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I think what breaks bonds between people most often is unspoken expectations — when we assume instead of communicating. I’ve seen relationships crack not from one big event, but from small moments of feeling unheard. What restores those bonds is honesty paired with grace — the willingness to listen, own our part, and choose connection again. Whether in family, friendships, or business, I believe restoration comes through humility and empath.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain when I realized it was the very thing that connected me to others. For a long time, I thought I had to keep everything polished and perfect. But when I started sharing the messy parts — the challenges of motherhood, heartbreak, and starting over — I found my real strength. Owning my story gave me freedom, and it became the power I use to lift others up, knowing they can make it through too.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
An important truth I believe is that balance is a myth — you don’t have to do everything equally well at once. Instead, life comes in seasons, and giving yourself permission to lean into what matters most in that season is where real peace and progress come from. Not everyone agrees, but I’ve learned it’s the most sustainable way to live.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say I lived with heart and left spaces brighter than I found them. That I raised strong, kind kids, built businesses that brought people together, and never shied away from starting over when life demanded it. More than anything, I’d want people to remember that I loved big, created joy, and showed others that resilience is contagious.
