Story & Lesson Highlights with Grant Braudrick of Old Lake Highlands

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Grant Braudrick. Check out our conversation below.

Grant, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
It all depends! During the week you can find me throughout Texas growing relationships and educating consumers on DECKED products. On the weekends I could be playing music, fishing or on the golf course!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I was born and raised in Dallas, TX. I graduated from Plano west and then attended college at Ft. Lewis in Durango, CO. After college I jumped into the corporate world selling insurance all the while playing music and gigging around town. In 2008 I was honored to perform a month-long Armed Forces Entertainment tour to Iraq/Kuwait for our US Troops. I made the decision to leave the corporate world in 2010 to pursue music full-time. In 2012 I was invited to another Armed Forces Entertainment tour performing for our US Troops in Japan, S Korea, Guam, Hawaii, and Alaska. Upon return, I continued playing music and carving out a name in the local scene. In my free time, I found myself fishing as much as possible in the beautiful waterways we have here in Texas. After a number of years aligning with the right companies through fishing, I became a sales rep for Rainy’s Flies in 2016. In 2019 I joined forces with Temple Fork Outfitters as a fly-fishing sales rep. All the while still playing music. In 2024 I became an in house REP for DECKED, which is an American made storage solution company focusing on making life better for the Do’ers of the world! At this current time, I’m still a working musician, sales rep, fishing guide occasionally and do my best to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible!

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
Without a doubt my Father, Terry Braudrick! My Dad passed in 2021 but he lived quite the storied life. Out of Highschool he joined the Air Force and served in Vietnam. After the war he was stationed at Hickam AF base in Hawaii where he met/fell in love with my Mother. They settled in Dallas where my Dad became a serial entrepreneur. He owned restaurants, hair salons, construction companies, he flipped houses which turned into his real estate brand and was the HOA president of Bent Tree for many years. He later was involved heavily in his investments groups and was passionate about that until his passing. He was a great teacher of building relationships and always being the best that you can be! He left a great legacy and we all continue to make him proud!

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
To trust in God’s plan for your life. Show up with a good attitude and do your best to better this world. You’ll find your path along the way!

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
I try to be authentic as possible at all times. It’s my belief that the more real you are the more the world will try to align you with your true purpose. Truth always reveals itself in time!

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
To follow your passions, always be kind and leave this world better than you found it!
