Keisha, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I just celebrated 10 yrs of Fashions Repurposed Fundraiser Fashion Show. It is a Fashion Show to use the gift God gave me to bring awareness to a local non-profit.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, my name is Keisha Tucker! I like to call myself the Repurpose Kueen! I am a seamstress/designer of custom repurposed fashions. My passion for sewing and fashion all started in the 6th grade. I remember coming home from school to my mom in a new suit, she made with the fabric I saw on the floor before I went to school that morning. I took home economics every year in middle and high school and my senior year of high school, I made all my school clothes!!!
I think what makes me different from other Designers is I prefer to take OLD unworn clothes and make them into unique one of a kind garments you can’t buy in the store. I’m excited and most proud of using my gift to give back, presenting at NYFW in February of 2024 and now celebrating 10 years of my own Fundraiser Fashion Show “Fashions Repurposed”!
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with my dad helped me see myself as a designer.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell myself, Keep pushing toward your goals. You are beautiful, kind and resourceful

I am committed to building my own dreams!

I feel most at peace when I am at my sewing machine creating unique one of a kind garments and or Neck Candy!
