Hi La La, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Something outside of work that is bringing me joy is my 8 year old daughter’s participation in dance. She is currently a competitive dancer and loves to create her artistic expression through various forms of dance!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
La La Musiq is a multi-award winning international gospel artist with multiple singles, albums, and collaborations streaming on all digital platforms. She is a member of the Recording Academy/GRAMMYs and 3x balloted Grammy artist. She is also a member of ASCAP, East Texas Gospel Music Professionals, The International Music Association, The Antigua Barbuda Gospel Music Academy, and The International Singer-Songwriters Association.
She has a mission to deliver Inspirational music throughout the world that can resonate with all people. She is currently working on her third album and look forward to releasing it in 2026. La La Musiq has an online store where supporters can purchase various merchandise representing her brand.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
It would have to be my husband who saw the value in me as an artist before I did. I never had the confidence to just do it but he believed in me enough to get me started. He came home one day with all this recording equipment and told me to stop sitting in my gift. From that day, I knew I had the support to make my dream as an independent artist come true. The rest is history with over 22 music awards, 2 award winning albums, and becoming a voting member of the Recording Academy.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
One thing I would say to my younger self is to never give up. To focus on your dreams and be confident knowing that The Most High God has a plan for you and it will be more than you could have ever imagined.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. the public version of me is the real me. I believe as an artist it is important to show people who you really are from your personal life to professionally. Being real is a quality that I take pride in knowing that what you see is what you get!
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The story I hope people tell when I am gone is that I loved my family, worked hard and persevered in my career, followed my dreams as an artist in the music industry, and most importantly glorified The Most High God in all of my endeavors.
