Marie Malone shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Marie, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Spending time with my wife and 3 dogs bring me so much joy daily. Also, any time I am able to create and get to be in my element I’m happy.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is ℳ𝒶𝓇𝒾ℰ, owner of 𝓢𝓸𝓾𝓵𝓼𝓽𝓲𝓬𝓮!
Since a young age, I’ve been creating and making jewelry for personal pleasure and style. Since launching 𝒮ℴ𝓊𝓁𝓈𝓉𝒾𝒸ℯ 5 years ago, I’ve been able to pour out my passion while living in my purpose. The mission of Soulstice is to inspire, educate, and provide ways to heal the mind, body and soul through holistic and metaphysical practices. All products including, handmade jewelry, upcycled apparel, all-natural skin care, handmade incense and more, are designed and handmade by me with intention and love. The collection welcomes you to come as you are while inviting you to explore healing, fashion, and mindful artistry.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I played basketball professionally overseas for 6 years after graduating from College, and I believe living in different countries amongst different cultures really shaped me as a young adult and changed my view on how I see the world.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
When I decided to go to therapy regularly and take my healing journey seriously.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
I take pride in always showing up as my authentic self in any space I’m in. I think it’s so important to be yourself because no one else has that power but you.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope the story people tell about me when I’m gone is that I always made them feel that they could be themselves with me without judgement. That being around me filled them up and that my energy was somehow healing. I hope people will say that they felt safe and loved.
