We’re looking forward to introducing you to Micah Talley. Check out our conversation below.
Micah, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Lately, I’ve been laughing a lot—I recently moved back to my hometown for a couple months to finish up an internship, and being around the people I grew up with has been such a full-circle moment. It’s been constant laughs, little nostalgic moments, and a reminder of how far I’ve come.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Micah Talley—I’m a local artist based in the DFW area. I recently (ish) dropped a new song called Stolen across all streaming platforms!
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
A lot of my early influences were definitely my voice coach and my agent growing up. They both really pushed me and inspired me to keep pursuing the arts, even when it felt uncertain. But if I had to choose one, I’d say my voice coach had the biggest impact. She not only helped me develop my talent, but truly shaped my mindset and work ethic. I honestly wouldn’t be on this journey without her.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Oh yeah, definitely! I think it’s super normal to feel discouraged sometimes—especially in this industry, where it’s so easy to compare yourself to others. There have been moments where I’ve questioned if I was doing enough or if I was “behind.” But I’ve learned to remind myself that I’m not late—I’m right on time for my journey. Everyone’s path looks different, and that’s okay.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Probably them! I truly value my friendships and take them super seriously. Some of the people in my life have been around for over 10 years, and those bonds mean everything to me.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I feel like I’m finally at a point in my life where I’m doing what feels the most authentic to me. Ever since I was young, I’ve known that I wanted to pursue music and perform—it’s always felt like home. So yes, I truly believe I’m doing what I was born to do, not what I was told to do
