We’re looking forward to introducing you to Nara Ramirez. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Nara, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, joy has found me through the tiny hands and soft breaths of my baby boy. Becoming a mom this November has opened up a new kind of love — one that fills my days with gratitude, wonder, and hope for everything ahead.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Nara the heart behind Hair by Naritaa. I’m based in Midland Texas. Behind the chair for almost 6 years, certified in extensions, blondes, balayage & more. Grateful. Growing. Glowing every step of the way. I was nominated for Behind the Chair Awards 2025 (funny video) & won Best Client Transformation — West Texas Beauty Industry Awards 2025. Check out my work on Instagram @hairbynaritaa. I’m on maternity leave till next year, but just wait on it… I’ve got some exciting things coming stay tuned!!
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
The person who taught me the most about work was my grandfather, Cipriano Ramirez. May he rest in peace. He always reminded me that you have to work for what you want — there are no shortcuts in life. He taught me to stay disciplined, stay humble, and always give my best. His lessons continue to shape the way I approach both my career and my life to this day.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could speak to my younger self, I would say: I’m so proud of you for not giving up. There were times in cosmetology school when it felt impossible, moments when I wanted to quit and walk away from everything I had worked so hard for. The last year was especially tough — probably one of the hardest years of my life. But you didn’t give up. Those struggles shaped the person I am today and taught me that chasing your dreams, no matter how hard it gets, is always worth it.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
What really matters to me? My family, first and foremost my husband, and boys have completely changed my world and filled it with joy I never knew existed. My work through Hair by Naritaa is my passion — helping people feel confident and beautiful every day. Beyond that, faith, personal growth, and love guide every choice I make. Grateful, growing, and glowing every step of the way.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, I think my clients would miss the care and attention I put into helping them feel confident and beautiful. I don’t just focus on hair; I focus on creating an experience, a space where they feel valued, seen, and heard. They would miss all the laughs, the fun moments, and the positive energy I bring to every appointment. Making people feel good about themselves has always been my passion, and it’s been such a joy to share that with every client who sits in my chair — and bomb hair, of course!
