We recently had the chance to connect with Nina-Marie Rueda and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Nina-Marie, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I start the day with a 60-min walk with my dog, some electrolytes, and sitting on my front porch enjoying the sunrise.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a traditionally trained naturopath that helps families grow without needing to depend on a medical system. Most families I work with are those who are struggling with infertility or whose children have complex needs. Our team uses functional testing from hair mineral tests to blood tests to stool tests for the most comprehensive analysis of ones needs.
At Olive Wellness Group, we pride ourselves in taking a root-cause approach to health, where food is the first line of defense and an Rx pad is not needed.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
That I was going to be J Lo’s back-up dancer or the first female president.
I am wholly committed to being a stay-at-home-mom who makes her own schedule in order to homeschool my children alongside my husband. I do not care to be well-known or in some powerful leadership position. I care that my children are well-loved and that our community is tight-knit. So far, we have exactly that.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Trust your instincts and don’t give in to the need to climb the professional corporate ladder. Your work at home is more important and will transform generations. I wish I would have realized this much sooner as a wife and mother. It is a driving force in my work now with clients.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
First and foremost, that the Lord Jesus Christ is well-pleased with my life and representation of Him. And then that my family is well nurtured, which means my husband and I have a close and beautiful marriage and our children trust and love us fully. Only after that would close friends mention my work in helping families break free from conventional medicine’s bonds in helping them realize that they can have true health without an Rx.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If immortality were real, what would you build?
Immortality is real. One day our mortal bodies will put on immortality. Therefore, I work to build the church, because that is what will last after this life.
