We recently had the chance to connect with Nydia Lavish and have shared our conversation below.
Nydia , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I’ve been really enjoying nature. I love to visit local parks with ponds or lakes and feed the ducks and turtles. It’s so relaxing and rewarding to see other creatures that God created, especially when they’re in their environment thriving. I love animals, about 3 months ago I saved a baby Bobcat that had gotten separated from her mother. I was able to get her relocated somewhere save. It was definitely a dream come true.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Nydia Lavish. In 2020 my husband and I launched our very own business called “The Pickle Dillers” we made Kool-aid Pickles and Pineapples. We eventually added Sea Moss gel as well. In 2021, we found out that our 14 year old son Hampton had cancer. After 27 months of fighting cancer, Hampton passed away at 16 on 7-11-2023. I got divorced during that time and decided to take a break from my business. Now, I’m back doing what I love which is being a service to others. I no longer make Kool-aid Pickles but I do make some of the Best Tasting Sea Moss gel in the world. After my son transition, I started writing music. Music has been my therapy and it keeps me connected to myself as well as my son because before I write each song, I ask him to guide me & help me make a hit and he does just that.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that’s served its purpose is the old version of me. Now, the new version of Nydia must now step into the Spotlight. I battled a rare disease called “Myasthenia Gravis” for 13 years. I died 3 times. After going into remission and being healed from taking 13 pills a day and having to get a Plasma exchange every other week for 6 years. I beat the odds. I won. After overcoming a life altering illness, couldn’t nothing break me or make me not believe in myself. Losing my son to cancer was a hole in my chest that I thought would never heal. Grieving lasts a lifetime, there will never be a moment when I don’t miss my child. It’s so many others going through what I’ve been through or about to go through something. My tests and trials weren’t just for me but for others as well. We’re supposed to let our light shine even in darkness, that’s when it shines the most. Now, I’m ready to share my story and encourage others that they to can overcome whatever comes their way, just don’t stop believing, stay positive and never give up.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, the time that I wanted to give up was Now!! It’s like wanting and waiting for something that you’ve been very persistent about getting, only for it to seem as if nothing is happening. It feels like when you’re on the verge of your breakthrough, your manifestations, it’s like time stops and the little motion you’ve had here and there comes to a complete stop. It leaves you wandering if you’re on the right path. That’s when you know that you’re on the right path. It’s scary stepping into the unknown and only allowing your faith to guide you. I’m glad that giving up isn’t an option for me, it’s nothing for me to go back to from my past. When you give up, you’re actually going back to your past. I’ve learnt my lessons from my past and even when it’s silent and no movement at all, I just stand and allow what I’m seeking to flow to me. It works out for me every time, especially when it seems impossible.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, I’m the same person on my public platforms. I like me and I love me even more. I’m wonderfully made and I’m past the opinions of others. A lot, of people masks themselves because they fear being judged or seen as different. I take pride in it because it’s so inspiring to be yourself. That’s when you can walk in your God given purpose by just being you. I’m very colorful and I don’t mind expressing myself true authentic self, some love it and some dislike it either way it goes, everyone must respect it because it takes much courage to be who you truly are.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’ve entered a new timeline of being able to do what I love, what I was born to do, most importantly my God given purpose. I enjoy having my own successful business making Sea Moss gel. I’m ready to walk in my purpose not only to inspire others, spread love to others, and motivate others through my music but to stand in my purpose and get paid handsomely well for doing so. We’re created to experience our heaven on earth. Once you break free from the chains of programming.
