We’re looking forward to introducing you to Seth Swinford . Check out our conversation below.
Seth , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
My team. I’m the admin of a group of interior design / lifestyle creators. It brings me so much joy to see all my friends succeed. We all started out so small and now we are all getting SO big collectively! We really
support each other with with ideas, strategies and just good vibes if someone on the team is on a bad streak.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Seth Swinford, the creative force behind @swizzy.design — a digital creator with a distinct passion for bold interiors, ambient lighting, and visual storytelling. My work is rooted in transforming spaces with character-rich design, blending eclectic style with a modern edge.
I specialize in interior decorating and lighting design, creating content that celebrates individuality and inspires creativity. Through curated styling, home transformations, and brand partnerships, I bring unique pieces to life and share them with an engaged audience across social media.
As an experienced UGC (User-Generated Content) creator, I merge design insight with digital strategy to craft high-performing content that feels both authentic and aspirational. My mission is to help others explore and express their personal style through colorful, storytelling-driven design that sparks joy and connection.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Just a quiet kid with so many ideas I was scared to show people. Almost like an extroverted introvert? Now I fully do not care as a 31 year old. Now I love to show my work in the possibility it could inspire someone out there in any aspect, especially if they are going through a hard time. I might wake up and paint a ceiling yellow and nobody’s opinion can phase me now. Decorate your space for you, not anyone else.
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
That slow progress is better then no progress and that in this day and age consistency is more widely rewarded then perfection.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
My mom. She’s the strongest women I’ve ever known and by far the most wise. She’s been through the worst but we have all only ever seen her best.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember how I made them feel, or if there was a time I made them laugh when they didn’t even feel like smiling.
