Terraneka Hill shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Terraneka, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
This is a great question. Currently, I’m being called to service and help others on a higher level than ever before. I’ve always had a passion for helping people, but I’m now looking to service and take on clients in a new capacity.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a licensed Realtor servicing the Dallas Metroplex and Lifestyle Content Creator. I share a glimpse of my life through wellness, self love, lifestyle, and real estate on social media. I share my story and document my journey on YouTube in hopes of encouraging and motivating women to go after their dreams and becoming the best version of themselves no matter the challenges life may throw at you. As a Realtor in the Dallas market I look forward to assisting clients with their real estate goals whether buying, selling, or leasing. I’m currently working on growing my platforms and building my real estate portfolio in the Dallas area.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child I believe I lacked creativity. I would always say things like I wish I was creative or I’m not creative enough to do certain things. As I have gotten older and have been able to explore my purpose in entrepreneurship through content creation I have been able to tap into my creativity in ways I have never imagined. I’m so happy that I discovered that although my creativity may not look like others, I have my own style of creativity. Sometimes it just takes us time to develop and explore our gifts which I’m glad I have found mine.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of disappointing others have held me back for a long time. This can also be know as “people pleasing.” Growing up being the eldest daughter I always felt a responsibility to think of others before making decisions. I always wanted to set a good example to the best of my ability. This translated into my adulthood as doing what others suggested I should or being afraid of what some one else may think of my decisions in life. Over the years I have been doing the inner work to overcome people pleasing and the opinions of others. It has been freeing doing what I feel is right in my heart. I often think of where life may have taken me if I operated in this world on my own terms years ago.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
If I had to guess my friends would say loyalty matters to me before anything else. I value loyalty because in return I’m a loyal friend to my core. I try to always support my friends in every area of their life to the best of my ability. I do not have many friends, but the friends I do have they do not have to question my allegiance and loyalty. I love that for us!
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely! You can’t go through life only doing things to please or wait for an applause in life. We were not placed on this earth to be praised or glorified from others. We were placed on earth to live out our purpose through our talents and abilities. You only have one life to live and I’ve realized can’t no one else live it for you! As long as what I’m doing in my life is pleasing to God and gives me peace I’m ok if no one ever praised me for it.
