We recently had the chance to connect with Valleen Vallere and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Valleen , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Good morning, and thank you for having me! I really can’t place a time limit but this scripture sets the tone for my day “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33 NIV.
I start with gratitude to God and prayer for his guidance, and just take time to sit in stillness and listen to God. From there, I read and study my Bible, then journal to reflect on what God is revealing to me, maybe sip on some tea and complete a page of a book God has inspired me to create called “A Journal to Recovery, Restoration, and Increase: Understanding Your Journey in God’s Timing.” This book creates an invitation to a life of obedience with fasting, and praying to seek and know God’s will, blessings and promises for our lives. I go through these moments to help ground me in peace and prepare me to pour into the rest of my day with purpose.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Yes, I am Valleen Vallere, a licensed cosmetologist and cosmetology instructor with over 24 years of hands-on experience in the beauty industry. Throughout my journey, I’ve been passionate about helping individuals feel seen, valued, and confident in their skin inside and out. I am also the President of Valencia Artistry Inc., a cutting-edge beauty tech company merging the worlds of beauty and technology. We will be redefining beauty standards by using advanced tools like DNA testing, AI-driven analysis, and virtual technology to create personalized beauty experiences. Whether it’s through customized hair, skin, and nail solutions or immersive virtual consultations, our goal is to empower beauty professionals and clients through data, creativity, and care. In addition, I lead Artistry DNA, a mobile DNA collection agency that brings certified, reliable testing directly to clients for both legal and non-legal needs. We bridge science and service to offer peace of mind and access to truth right at your doorstep. What makes my mission unique is the heart behind it. My work is grounded in the belief that true beauty begins with understanding yourself, your genetics, and your story. I’m currently working on platforms that will not only advance beauty technology but also foster community, healing, and personal transformation.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
The earliest memory of feeling powerful is when I was about four years old, standing right in front of the TV, watching an awards show. Patti LaBelle started singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” and her voice was unlike anything I’d ever heard. It was so powerful and full of emotion that it resonated deep within my spirit.
I remember dancing, crying, and singing at the top of my lungs, trying to sing just like her. In that moment even at that young age, I felt something stirring inside me a sense of power, passion, and connection to something greater. That moment planted the seed of strength and expression that has carried me throughout my life.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that has held me back the most in life has been the fear of not being perfect in presentation whether in how I looked, how I spoke, or how I showed up in the world. For years, I carried this invisible pressure to always appear polished, composed, and flawless.
But that pressure came at a cost. I sometimes hid my ideas, delayed my dreams, or second-guessed myself not because I wasn’t capable, but because I was afraid of being judged for not having everything “just right.”
Over time, I’ve learned that power doesn’t come from perfection. It comes from authenticity, from showing up anyway, even when your voice shakes or your hair isn’t done just right. I now know that imperfection has its own beauty and that real connection happens when we’re bold enough to be real.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what truly matters to me is my relationship with God, it’s the foundation of everything I do and how I navigate life. They’d tell you I’m deeply committed to loving my family and friends wholeheartedly, showing up with care, intention, and loyalty.
They know I’m always looking for ways to share helpful information, whether it’s a resource, opportunity, or word of encouragement. I genuinely love being a connector and a problem-solver. Being resourceful isn’t just something I do, it’s part of who I am. If there’s a way to help, I’ll find it, and if I don’t know it yet, I’ll learn it or find someone who does know.
At my core, I value faith, love, and service, and my friends see that lived out in both the small moments and the big ones.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m simply going through my day and I notice the little things those quiet, sacred moments that gently remind me that God is near.
It could be a sudden breeze, a kind smile from a stranger, a song playing at just the right time, or a thought that brings unexpected comfort. These moments feel like whispers from heaven, letting me know I’m seen, I’m loved, and I’m never alone.
It’s in those still, unscripted pauses in life that my heart settles, and I remember, God’s presence is always with me.
