We recently had the chance to connect with Vanedda Pesina-Lynn and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Vanedda, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, I’ve developed a growing passion for writing and illustrating children’s books and coloring books. The process of coming up with ideas has been exhilarating, and seeing those ideas come to life in book form brings me immense joy.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Vanedda Pesina-Lynn, the photographer and creative mind behind Laine Images Dallas. I specialize in portrait, nature, and wedding photography, and my signature style centers around using nature as the ultimate backdrop. Instead of traditional studio settings, I love capturing people outdoors surrounded by the beauty and light that make every shot feel alive and authentic.
For me, photography isn’t just about taking pictures it’s about creating an experience. My photoshoots are fun, personalized, and deeply focused on self-love, helping each person I photograph feel confident, comfortable, and celebrated.
My journey with photography began in high school, and over the years, I’ve continued to grow, experiment, and refine my craft. Alongside my photography, I’m also venturing into children’s literature. I’m currently working on a heartfelt book titled Elaine’s Two Sunrises, which tells the story of a biracial girl learning to embrace both sides of her heritage with grace and pride. It’s a story about identity, belonging, and learning that being “both” means being beautifully whole.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My parents. They’ve stood by me through every season of life and every new dream I’ve chased. I’ve always been the girl full of imagination and big ideas every day brought a new project or adventure to explore. My parents never hesitated to cheer me on. They shared my excitement, proudly telling friends, family, and even church members about the things I’ve created. They’ve always reminded me of how much I’ve accomplished and how capable I am, even when I couldn’t see it for myself.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, and I’ve even walked away before. But the beauty of true passion is that it never stays gone for long. We think we’re quitting for good when, most times, we just need a pause to rest and recalibrate.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Family and heritage. I take pride in where I come from and the people who made me who I am. My roots remind me to stay humble, grateful, and connected to love especially through storytelling, food, and togetherness. Whether it’s through my photography or my children’s book, I want to honor the generations before me and show that embracing who you are is a kind of strength that can’t be shaken.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I lived with purpose and poured love into everything I created. That I made others feel seen, celebrated, and inspired to embrace their own light. Whether through my photography, my books, or just everyday moments, I want to be remembered as someone who followed her dreams fearlessly, stayed grounded in kindness, and reminded others that they are whole just as they are.
