Trang Nguyen shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Trang, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
When people first hear “handmade skincare,” they sometimes imagine something decorative — soaps wrapped in pretty paper, a hobby craft project, or a gift shop extra. But at CVA Products, handmade means something very different: it means carefully formulated, science-backed, natural skincare that puts family health and wellness first.
Handmade Does Not Mean Less Effective
A common misconception is that handmade products can’t compare to store-bought brands. In truth, our formulas are created with the same dedication to performance, but without the harsh chemicals and fillers. Every bar of soap, lotion, or balm is designed with sensitive skin in mind, offering relief and nourishment where mass-market products often fall short.
Natural Doesn’t Mean Weak
Another misunderstanding is that natural products don’t work as well or don’t last. At CVA Products, we select ingredients not only for their clean, toxin-free qualities but also for their proven benefits. Goat milk for deep moisture, butters and oils for lasting hydration, botanicals for soothing properties — these choices result in skincare that is both gentle and powerful.
Custom Isn’t Always Expensive
People often equate “custom” with “luxury pricing.” While our products are handcrafted and can be tailored to customer needs, we are committed to keeping them affordable and accessible. Families shouldn’t have to sacrifice health for cost, and we believe everyone deserves safe skincare solutions.
It’s More Than Just Skincare
Perhaps the biggest misunderstanding is that CVA Products is simply about soaps and lotions. What we really provide is peace of mind — the reassurance that what you put on your skin is safe, natural, and beneficial. Our mission is to make everyday wellness easier, giving families confidence that their skincare supports health, not harm.
At CVA Products, we’re not just selling skincare. We’re helping people protect what matters most — their health, their families, and their confidence in their own skin.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Trang Nguyen, founder of CVA Products, a handmade skincare and wellness brand based in Keller, Texas. What started as a way to help my daughter’s eczema has grown into a mission to create natural, chemical-free products that are safe, gentle, and effective for families with sensitive skin. Every soap, balm, and lotion is crafted in small batches with purposeful ingredients — because skincare should be both clean and comforting. What makes CVA Products special is that it’s not just about skincare, it’s about wellness, peace of mind, and community. Right now, we’re expanding through custom gift sets, local workshops, and partnerships that bring our handmade care to more homes.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a curious, creative mom who just wanted to help her little girl feel comfortable in her own skin. I was someone who believed in simple joys, natural remedies, and doing things with love — not because it was expected, but because it felt right. That part of me is still here, and it’s what fuels CVA Products today.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes — absolutely. There have been moments when balancing everything felt overwhelming: a full-time job, raising my kids, and trying to grow my business all at once. The late nights, the constant to-do lists, and the feeling that I was being pulled in too many directions made me wonder if I could really keep going. But each time I reached that point, I reminded myself why I started — to help my daughter and other families with sensitive skin. That “why” gave me the strength to push through, even when it felt impossible.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, definitely. What you see is what you get with me. I like to be upfront and honest, whether I’m sharing my story on a podcast or talking with customers at the markets. I believe people can feel when you’re being genuine, and staying true to myself is the best way to connect with others.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes — because I believe the right people will recognize it in time. Even without praise, I give my best with the hope that my work will reach and help those who truly need it. My husband always reminds me that a true believer will find me eventually, and that encouragement keeps me going.
