Today we’d like to introduce you to Giovanni Cabrera.
Hi Giovanni, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Ok, it all started with me having a hard time expressing myself. So, photography helped me do that. I was able to express how I felt through photos. But one day, I went through some other serious things to where I couldn’t get my emotion out through photos any more so I started making music using it as an outlet.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Naw, nothing great comes easy. Definitely not smooth ups and downs. And some of my biggest struggles along the way were caring what others think seeking validation. I stopped seeking validation and became the validation.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a visual artist and musician. I specialize in black and white visual arts… I’m proud of my authenticity and ability to create art in any way and form. And what sets me apart is originality I’m not tryna be anyone else but myself.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
It never hurts to have a mentor. I mean, that’s the right way to do it. But don’t be scared to bet on yourself ever
