Life & Work with Monique Barsh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Barsh.

Hi Monique, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hey VoyageDallas! I started my acting career very young in the 6th grade. I always knew I’ll be in entertainment industry from dancing and church programs but as I grew up acting became my passion! Over the years I’ve been on numerous tours performing in celebrity base stage plays, commercials, tv/film projects, and produced my first short film The Miracle!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Having the confidence and faith to believe in my calling. Working a 9 to 5 without fully taking the leap to pursue my craft 100% can be extremely difficult. Especially missing out on gigs. Every day I make sure to work towards my dreams! Thank the Lord I heard this beautiful mantra “What’s for me, won’t pass me by” I’m a true believer in that. Even when I hear the NOs… rejection is redirection!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an actress/filmmaker, host, and brand ambassador! Most known for my stage presence in plays or hosting red carpets and events! Since 2019 I’ve starred in The Electric’s a web series out of Austin, Tx! We we’re officially selected for American Black Film Festival, our pilot is also on YouTube! I’m most proud of my Capital City Black Film Festival award-winning short film The Miracle, I am the creator, writer, director, and executive producer of the production! “The Miracle, is about a single mother raising a black son can be one of the hardest things to do. With dodging the streets and the ones in blue one wrong move can end in blood shed.”

The Miracle trailer can be found on YouTube, also stay tuned for more details on the release date of the film!

What sets me apart was done in Jeremiah 1;5 it’s God’s promise. “Before I formed you in your mother’s womb, I knew you and I set you apart” I called you a prophet of the nation”

I’m grateful to be uniquely different in what I bring to the industry! Giving God all the Glory! Glam, Healing, Love & Light!
