Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan White.
Hi Ryan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I am a Dallas native who strongly loves my city. I am a social media influencer, digital marketing specialist, and DJ. I have worked with major brands like Lexus, Dallas Mavericks, and Forever 21. I will graduate from Tarrant County College in May 2023 with my associate’s degree and plan to attend the University of North Texas Dallas in the fall of 2023 to obtain my bachelor’s degree in digital media technology. I recently worked for 97.9 The Beat and Majic 94.5 for the past four years. I took on roles with the marketing and promotions department and DJ’d for multiple community events and clubs across the DFW metroplex. I am active in the community and organize an annual giving-back fundraiser to donate goods to individuals and families who need assistance. The city of Dallas has allowed me to become an extremely talented and credible person.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have been many different struggles along this path to excellence. During the beginning of the pandemic, I was forced to rebrand and figure life out. I’ve learned that you have to get out of your head. I’ve been blessed with multiple opportunities, but most of them didn’t happen until I got out of my head. Setting small personal goals will help you achieve the bigger goals. You must write everything out. If you have an idea, write it out and come back to it! Bad things are going to happen, but it’s how you handle them that determines the outcome. Believe in yourself.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am known for many things, but right now my main focus is my podcast, eyewear company, and my new DJ career. My eyewear company (The Ryan Shop) has been around roughly for five years. I became an open-format DJ in 2021. After working in media for quite some time, I learned many skills that allowed me to become a DJ in the LGBTQ community and take on corporate gigs. My podcast, “The Daily Dose with Ryan White,” is brand new! The podcast was released in January 2023 and currently recording the rest of season 1.
I am extremely proud of my growth and ability to keep learning. My life tends to move really fast, but I try to make sure to live in the moment. I can’t believe I found my true purpose in life, which makes me happy. Understanding and learning myself has allowed life to become a little easier. The ability to remain calm and figure life out as daily obstacles are thrown at me is what sets me apart from others. My determination is contagious and admirable.
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
The most surprising thing that most people wouldn’t know is that I am a one-man show. I create all my graphics, take all my photos, record and edit my podcast, and record and edit all my videos, etc. I don’t think creatives who manage all of their digital work get enough credit. Thousands of hours go into designing.
