Meet BreAnna Hunt

Today we’d like to introduce you to BreAnna Hunt.

BreAnna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It’s a little difficult for me to walk through how I started doing what I do. I could go back to when I was three, and my mom bought me my first Barbie 110 camera, the first time I was handed a book on mysticism, the first time I expressed aloud that I wanted to be a photographer, the first competitions I entered to showcase my work, and so on. Being an artist, a creator, has put me on a lifelong journey. However, my current venture started in 2017. I decided to finally fuse my passion as a photographer, intuition as a reader, and entrepreneurial spirit to offer my talent and services to any and everyone who was called to work with me.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I could give a laundry list of the struggles I’ve faced along the way of figuring myself out as not only an artist but a person. For me though, those struggles were some of the greatest catalysts in my life to get me where I am today. The biggest one I find myself revisiting is my own internal conflict. I am diagnosed with bipolar 1 and navigating life mentally has not been easy for me. For years, I would spiral out of control ruining my personal relationships and stable jobs, and it wasn’t until I started this business that I felt I could get a hold of myself, my life, and peace of mind. The work I do helps me maintain my mental health and live a healthy and normal life. Running my business has been my greatest coping mechanism.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
The first thing I’d like to mention about my business is the name I took on to do business under, Uraenia. It’s a combination of my middle name and one of the nine ancient Greek muses- Ourania/Urania. She is said to be the muse of astronomy and astronomical writings and the great-granddaughter of Uranus. She guides and protects those on the path to heaven both spiritually and intellectually. I was fascinated and inspired by the resonance I felt as I discovered her mythology. I made the decision that I would do business under this name to always remind me where my heart is in this- helping others achieve their highest potential in every moment, in every way I can.
The tools I’ve chosen to help me do this have been photography and tarot.

As a tarot reader, I’ve learned to use a card’s imagery, symbolism, and my intuition to interpret the current struggles a person may be facing in their life as well as what resources they presently have to help them.

As a photographer, I catch people, places and things in their best light, in their best moments and showcase that. Imagery has always been so important to me because I came from a family who only had images and stories to pass down, so I love telling stories with images. Whether it’s through tarot or portraiture, I just love embracing and exploring others and uncovering the stories they’re given and carry moment to moment. I’ve been lucky that the clients I’ve had and friends I’ve worked with have trusted me enough to capture and share their stories with me.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I’ve found success in every day that I’m able to continue doing this work for myself and others. Every time I make a choice to not give up, every time I book a client or event, every time I receive validation in my work, every time I learn something new about my craft is a successful day for me.
