Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Walden.
Lindsay, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My journey as a photographer was influenced early on as a child as I stood next to my mother in our darkened laundry room, the soft red light of her makeshift darkroom casting wondrous shadows across her hands as she gently placed the photographic paper into the pungent chemicals. Witnessing those images appear under that red light was nothing short of magic. Though it wasn’t until many years later that I took up photography as a career.
It was a sweet friend who was interested in trying her hand at newborn photography and asked if she could use my recently born daughter as a model who opened my eyes to this beautiful genre of photography. I treasure those images of my daughter when she was only a few days old. I’ve come to appreciate the importance of and value in preserving these most precious of memories.
Over the past ten years, I have developed a distinct brand that heavily focuses on creating unique artwork that is deeply meaningful to my clients. Each session is custom created to represent the likes, interests and passions of the individual family. I offer my clients heirloom quality finished artwork designed to last for generations. Providing my clients with gorgeous and memorable artwork drives me to continually learn and innovate. Providing an exceptional experience and pampering my clients both young and old has been vital to my success.
Fast forward through years of learning and now many of my images are award winning and have been featured in magazines and fine art publications throughout the world.
Has it been a smooth road?
Newborn photography requires a great deal of patience and understanding. The safety and comfort of each of my little subjects are essential to me. Because of this many of the fine art images, I create for my clients are composite images, meaning I use multiple images to create a final image. This ensures I can photograph these precious newborns in the safest methods possible while still offering my clients stunning artwork. It took many years to perfect these methods for creating art and I had many failures along the way but learned from each of them.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lindsay Walden Photography – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Lindsay Walden Photography is a fine art newborn, maternity and baby’s first-year photography studio. Our studio is best known for creating those jaw-dropping, fine art newborn images that our clients will cherish for generations. We provide an experience for our clients that is unlike any other. Clients are invited to meet with us in person before their session for a pre-session consultation.
At this consultation, we will talk about the design for their unique session, brainstorm ideas for creating deeply meaningful artwork and talk about how they want to preserve their beautiful images for generations. During our newborn sessions, many of our clients will be pampered by our professional hair and makeup artist while my assistant and I sweetly capture those precious images of their baby. We finish each session with family, sibling and individual parent images with the baby.
Once their session is completed our clients are invited to meet with us again for their reveal session where we will view their images together and assist clients in designing that stunning artwork that will hang in their home or the beautiful heirloom album that their family will love sharing with family and friends.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the friendliness of this great city. So many kind people who are always looking for ways to serve their community. My least favorite thing would be the construction traffic. It is endless.
