Meet Tyler Austin Treadwell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Austin Treadwell.

Tyler Austin, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Since I was young, I was always perceived as a creative spirit with a wild imagination. It wasn’t until I started to grow up to become conscious and aware of what this really meant about me. I enjoyed making art and storytelling, so much so that I began to see my very own potential as a creator of distinctive beauty. From that realization came my fascination with the modeling industry. Starting out in Houston, I got signed to my first talent agency as a model and actor. I came to love working with like-minded people and playing a pivotal part in their unique visions. Producing one of a kind images from brand messages and remarkable narratives truly energized me and awakened that inner child. Discovering this aspect of myself led me to seek out more opportunities in different cities I’d go to; from Houston to Austin to my latest contract held currently in Dallas, TX.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There have definitely been challenges I’ve faced as a male model. To stand out in this industry you have to be willing to work on and off the set. With every agency I partnered with, I had to learn that while my persistence and consistency may have got me an opportunity there, it is also my responsibility to employ that same relentless effort to keep me working. Initially, I had the perception that getting a modeling contract was the end goal when booking the jobs was truly the main objective. I learned that while you may not always have a job on the books, and some seasons are busier than others, there is always something you can do to improve yourself. I started by changing my thought pattern and keeping a spirit of gratitude and attitude of expectancy. This shift in my mindset got me through any relative struggles.

Tyler Austin Treadwell – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
As a model, DJ and creative individual I have streamlined my passions and interests into a personal brand that has influence in the areas of fashion, male grooming, music, and entertainment. I have partnered with different brands and created unique content that effectively employs cross-functional promotion and still allows me to express my authentic self! I use social media platforms to do this and you can find my work primarily on Instagram. I am most proud of the collaborative efforts I’ve coordinated and directed myself with local models and brands in my market. I try to produce content that is not just aesthetically pleasing but is also thought-provoking. To set myself apart I play with different concepts and themes and imbue my work with divergent meanings and various interpretations.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
My affirmations as of late have been that: “I am successful, I’ve been successful, and I can only be more successful”. Success to me is more than just a feeling of accomplishment, it’s more of a positive outlook altogether. A position marked by the ability to have and keep hope & faith for that desired outcome.
