Small Business of the Day: Conversations with Adrienne Leigh of The Bush Waxing Boutique

Today’s Small Business of the Day features an interview with Adrienne Leigh. Please find our conversation below.

Thanks so much for joining us today. We’re excited for our readers to learn more about The Bush Waxing Boutique. Kick things off for us – what should they know?
I own The Bush Waxing Boutique & Estipreneurship. The Bush Waxing Boutique is unlike any other waxing business. We’ve combined beautiful spa-like energy with a results-driven waxing studio to create The Bush Waxing Boutique. My brick-and-mortar waxing business is where I hired & trained my first employees; this business has taught me everything I know about running a business. I’ve been thrown challenges, learned lessons & grown so much as a business owner & team leader. I’ve tried new tactics; some have succeeded & some have majorly flopped. I’ve hired, fired, had employees quit, had employees stay. It’s been a rollercoaster, to say the least, but throughout it all, one thing has remained true: I am an entrepreneur at heart & there’s nothing I would rather be doing.

One thing that I love that The Bush has been able to provide me with is new experiences, good, bad & ugly! I truly believe that I was put on Earth to inspire & teach. That’s how Estipreneurship was born. There is such a need for guidance in any industry, but specifically the beauty industry. Service providers work somewhere for a year or two, become great at providing services, learn & grow, and then decide to go out on their own, which is great! If you’ve got the entrepreneurial bug, go for it! The thing that most of us don’t realize is that there is a huge difference between being a successful service provider & being a successful entrepreneur.

Through Estipreneurship, I’ve been able to package up my systems, methods, strategies & lessons to help newly independent estheticians get their business started! I love teaching the next generation of estis to take the leap of faith & crush their business dreams out of the park.

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned building your business that you can share with those just starting out in their entrepreneurial journey?
There is nothing wrong with admitting you don’t know the answer & that you need help. One of the main reasons The Bush is still standing is because I got out there & started forming connections. I’ve invested so much time in networking with other local entrepreneurs & I’ve invested more money than I can count in hiring coaching & mentors. I would rather learn from those ten steps ahead of me than try to face the struggles alone. Coaches & mentors have been in your shoes, they know what to do & can help guide you through the challenges that will inevitably come up during your entrepreneur journey.

Alright, before we go, let’s do a quick lightning round.
