So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always had a passion for cooking and baking but over Spring Break of 2017 that changed. I was looking for something to do with my daughter and we found a cookie decorating class in that one, 2-hour class I found my true passion; cookie decorating!
Over the next few weeks, I fell completely in love and could not stop decorating cookies! I started off with just a few cookie cutters and supplies to now having an entire closet dedicated to my business. Within a few months, I started posting my cookies online, creating a business Facebook page and my business took off! It has become more than I ever imagined in just a short period of time!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Other than a few burnt cookies, some sleepless nights and minor changes to the way my household is run, things have been fairly smooth.
Sugar Fix Custom Confections – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Sugar Fix Custom Confections is a custom decorated cookie business. I specialize in decorated sugar cookies designed for individual parties/events. Not only do my cookies look great, they taste great! I’m proud of my strong customer base and love that most of my customers are word of mouth. Most message/phone calls start with “I had your cookies at a party.” I’m proud of what I have built out of my kitchen and look forward to seeing how things grow in the future. I believe that my passion and commitment to detail are what sets my cookies apart from others.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success by the sense of fulfillment and self-satisfaction that I derive from seeing the look on my customer’s faces when I first hand them their cookies.
