So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m an immigrant kid that moved to the states at a very young age where my parents immediately divorced and I was forced to basically raise myself in the streets of Houston, Texas with a great love for music and a passion in particular for guitar.
Has it been a smooth road?
Is it a smooth road for anyone? I have had my fair share of struggles throughout life but like the great poet Rumi once said: mountains do not get their shapes till they weather some storms and I like a lot of others have weathered a lot of storms but I still stand.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Heavy as Texas story. Tell us more about the business.
I’m a music and art lover that plays guitar in two bands. Heavy as Texas from Houston and Exhorder from New Orleans! I have an independed record label based out of Houston along with my partner Paul Provost called Crunchy Western Records also! We know the rules well, so we break them as we go along and do what we want both artistically and musically with zero boundaries!
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
A lot has changed but nothing has changed in a true artists heart! Following your dreams by acting upon them is the key so regardless of where the industry goes the artist will prevail personally and spiritually!
