Today we’d like to introduce you to Yoradi Jubie.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Yoradi. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised in The Dominican Republic, went to college for Communications with mention is Journalism and Public Relations. While going to junior high, I used to go to vocational school, my main dream was to be a bank teller (its a luxurious work back home), so I attended to all classes I could for office work but my dad was very protective, so once my classes were done, I will pass into the classes of cosmetology even though I was underaged, just so I don’t have to be home so soon, turned out to finish those classes as well, becoming a Cosmetologist “by accident”, loved the fact that there were anatomy classes and that was interesting to me, so by the time classes were done, I was a hairdresser which helped me a lot with my college tuition, my humble beginnings and achievements are my biggest pride, those re he roots for me feeling like living the American dream.
Has it been a smooth road?
My number one challenge was my dad, having an irrationally controlling person didn’t make my journey any easier, but I am thankful because I must confess, that kept me away from “troubles” however, it was some rush and worrisome everywhere I went, I had a time to be home, even from college or work, plus being the oldest of six kids, I believe most pressures was focused on me, being a descendant of humble beginnings is my biggest pride, I appreciate the value of earning everything in life and that is my motto.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the YJ COSMETICS story. Tell us more about your work.
I am the CEO/Founder of YJ Dominican Beauty Salon & YJ Cosmetics, we specialize in making and maintaining healthy hair regardless of the race. Being native from the Dominican Republic, makes me experienced on a very extensive variety of complexions and looks, therefore treating hair for me is simply easy.
As a Dominican hair stylist, I am well known for providing a great blowout without the use of the flat iron, for educating my clients about how much more beneficial is to keep it simple in matters of hair care.
Having a background in communication with mentions in Journalism & Public Relations and aviation, makes me feel truly passionate about choosing the beauty industry as my work routine; I believe in women empowering within one another and being able to provide a change of look for my clients it really is a great satisfaction to me.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We are launching before the end of 2018 YJ Cosmetics with our collections of hair care series. Our goal is to cross all possible barriers, spreading our message, with the aim of educating beauty professionals about hair care regardless of race. We strive to spread the knowledge of making and maintaining healthy hair because we know that being natural and maintaining health is becoming a priority for individuals more and more worldwide, it is important for us to contribute our bit through our knowledge.
