Today we’d like to introduce you to Keadra Jeter.
Keadra, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I started as a kid, sitting around watching my brothers draw cars in their school notebooks & saw my mom draw different animals while on the phone with her friends. I didn’t think I would get the artistic gene like everyone else in my family until I began drawing on walls. I don’t know how many times I got a whoopin’ for it but after a while, my mom just stopped, lol. That was the moment I knew I had artistic talent. My first piece was a drawing of my brother who passed away in 2003 & I gave it to my mom as a mother’s day gift in 2007. In January 2017, I began showcasing my work at different shows all over Dallas. Most people say that I have the 90s/urban style of art and it is very unique. From then on, I continued to showcase my art & was able to have my first solo show in February 2018. As of today, I am still improving my skill & also planning for my next solo show in February 2019 to showcase a refined side of my art – a side that came from a mental break from life & meditation.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I paint, as well as graphic design, photography & videography. I also have a clothing line called Celf Luv. I have always been a creative kid, even through grade school and knew this was my thing. I want people to be inspired and take a leap of faith & do what they have always dreamed of doing. The sky is the limit, and it goes a long way!
In your view, what is the biggest issue artists have to deal with?
The biggest challenge facing artists today is support. Art is very expressive, and most people do not realize that artists put their emotions & feelings into the artwork. Artist wear their hearts on their sleeves and pour it onto the canvas. We just want people to understand that artists do a lot for little recognition.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
My artwork is listed at www.kjeterart.com, my designs & photography at www.kx-media.com, and my clothing line at www.celfluv.com. People can support any of these by donating through PayPal which is located on all three sites or send to $KJeterArt through Cash app. Also, reposting on social media is the ultimate way I prefer to support.
