Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Reed.
Lauren, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Isn’t it funny how much easier it is to tell someone else’s story instead of your own?
There is an art to storytelling… especially if you’ve found your voice (and have something to say). If you know me, you are quite aware that I do have a lot to say, with so many ways to say it. It’s good practice for me to define who I am in words on paper; although, my “elevator pitch” is WAY more entertaining in person. I’ve heard from trusted sources that I am a very enthusiastic lover of life who knows *almost* everyone.
My passion for people and glass-all-the-way-full attitude has driven me to pursue careers focused on building long-lasting relationships between individuals, businesses, and brands. From the stage as a professional ballerina/Romana’s Pilates instructor to a full-time event planner and content creator, my 29 y/o self has never stopped moving and shaking.
Industries, titles, niches, friendships/acquaintances, expectations, schedules, scopes of work and geographical locations may have changed, but my mission has not: to bring people together through creativity, collaboration, and experiences (that you will want to remember and share on Instagram).
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not at all! I wouldn’t be who I am today if I didn’t go through many hard or uncomfortable times. Find your strength through the struggle! It’s true… the hustle is real – let’s take what we’ve learned and started working smarter, not harder. I have plenty of stories I could share, especially during my ballet days, but I don’t know a season in my life that hasn’t had a tough storm to weather through.
One day at a time, I’m thankful because I have more happiness living in the now. I used to be so obsessed with the destination that I kinda tried to rush the journey. (Took my entire twenties to truly realize.) But hey, I encourage and accept all sorts of change for that’s when you really grow (aka bloom where you are planted).
REED & CO. and Malone Pictures – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
REED & CO. has transitioned and rebranded a couple of times over the past two years, but at the end of the day, REED & CO. is really me: a bridge-building power connector and creative voice, with a focus on storytelling. I used to tell stories solely through my artistic careers, but now I’m aligned with the best in the film/video production biz.
My full-time role in Malone Pictures encompasses and represents all of my favorite skillsets, “hats,” and experiences: events, partnerships, project management, sales, marketing, social/digital strategy, content creation and more. Think of me as a personal concierge or missing puzzle piece. Put me in coach!
REED & CO. is both the cause AND result of many opportunities to connect and work with like-minded individuals, businesses and brands. Cannot explain how grateful I am for the tools I have added to my tool belt before, during, and after launching in 2016. And this is just the beginning! Very excited to see where and who it leads me/us to. Fun fact: I’ve worked on set with Malone Pictures off and on for seven years… and now they’re my forever ride-or-dies!
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Faith. Happiness. Drive. Determination. Responsibility. Purpose. Passion. Understanding and believing my value and worth. It’s not the title or the role that defines me – it starts with knowing who I am.
I believe once you wholeheartedly put God first and trust in Him, everything falls into place. Things don’t and won’t go as I planned, but I become stronger on the journey, and rest knowing His plan is perfect! Success is simple. Success is continuing to move forward.
