Conversations with the Inspiring Allie Mora

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allie Mora.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Allie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In 2010, I started Through the Alley to share my thrift finds and to inspire others to thrift.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s been a pretty easy road. I’ve been fortunate to have been able to team up with Buffalo Exchange and Family Thrift Center. I’ve also been featured multiple times on Thrift Town’s social accounts. I do wish I would have stayed consistent and dedicated over the years, instead of posting whenever I wanted.

For those that want to start a blog or Instagram, I highly suggest writing small goals and sticking to a plan. You’d be amazed what you can achieve! Also, don’t get obsessed with how many followers you have or don’t have!

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I would say what sets me apart from others is that I try to spend as little as possible on clothes. I want others to see that you can have a sense of style without spending a fortune on an outfit.

Do you have any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general? What has worked well for you?
I’m the worst at networking! However, I’ve always pushed myself to attend events and talk to people.

Try finding facebook groups for bloggers/influencers, that’s a quick and easy way to connect with people. Also, feel free to reach out to me, I might have some answers or can direct you to someone who can help.
