Meet Keke Perez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keke Perez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Keke. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I remember sitting in the bathtub singing the coca cola commercial Anita Baker sung and my mother thought it was the radio. She was shocked such a big voice came from a tiny girl, and my singing career began. I started singing in the choir at Westhaven Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, and lead many songs. I loved it, but I still feared to look in the crowd. At nine years old, I was asked to sing on Bobby Jones Gospel on B.E.T. We gathered donations and received many, but the donation from the late singer Selena is the one donation I will never forget. I’ve had the opportunity to open up for Mary Mary, Kim Burrell, Shirley Ceasar, Tyrese, and the youngest woman in the world to do a duet with the legendary Temptations just to name a few. As time went on, I still pursued my dreams but had a strong desire to help other artists pursue theirs as well. In 2014, I opened Keke Perez Voice Studio where we unlock your full singing potential. I am a musical mid-wife helping artist birth their sound and discovery their artistic identity. I have coached over 350 students, and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I can honestly say God has been good to this little lady right here, but it has taken me years to complete my own music. Fear, self- doubt, and finding myself had a lot to do with the wait. I feel it is a neverending journey of evolving for all artist, but I’m sooo excited to be releasing my 1st live EP “Last Call” written by me, and produced by my brothers Classic Ave. I believe it’s a beautiful body of work worth the wait.

Being a mom of two handsome boys who are 14 yr. old and 7 yr. old to my Handsome husband Frank Perez as well as a wife my priority is home, and I had to learn to balance my dreams, business and laundry… lol!! It’s not always easy, but worth it.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am 1st a singer, and I’m known for singing acapella, and my jazz-infused sound with hip hop rhythmic flow. I’m also known as a worshiper and lover of Christ. My desire is to make music that point people back to God and their true identity.

I’m also the owner of Keke Perez Voice Studio. I specialize in growing your range, finding artist sound, and helping artist discover their artist identity through a holistic approach by detoxing the negative thoughts they have about their voice and supply tools to enhance their singing voice by unlocking their full singing potential. I have coached over 350 students and counting. I also offer artist life coaching, artist development packages, worship team vocal lessons, group vocal lessons, online vocal lessons, and private 1 on 1 vocal lesson for anyone seven and up. My proudest moments is when my student makes the audition, gets the callback, gets into the school, finishes their album, and believe in themselves and their gift after they work with me.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future is to open a fully loaded school that offers artist development mentally and physically. I plan on adding new coaches and coaching mainstream artist. I plan on teaching all over the world.

I will be holding music business seminars, songwriting courses, vocal boot camps, releasing an artist development course, and impacting as many artists as I can for the better.

I plan on releasing my EP by the end of the year and inviting the world to go on this musical journey with me. I want to die empty.
