Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaunie B.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was always known as the class clown throughout my educational journey from middle school through college. People always gravitated to me because I was the person who could get along with anyone and I was the life of the party. I love making people laugh. I love conversing with people. I enjoy learning new things. Therefore taking a leap of faith to become an entertainer was right up my alley.
Fear was the reason why I put it on the backburner and made excuse after excuse of why the timing wasn’t right. I was always too nervous to be on stage because I have major stage fright and I didn’t know where to begin. I had no structure and no one to guide me. There were a few open mic comedy shows in my city and my friends pumped me up to do one in 2012. I did okay, people chuckled but it was nothing major. Shortly after, I was booked as the opening act for two other shows. Sad to say, everyone just stared at me and I didn’t received one single laugh. Great thing is no one boo’d. Talk about a confidence breaker. I knew at that exact moment, performing on stage was a “NO” for me. So I was looking for my next venture in the entertainment world. In 2013, I was asked to be a radio personality for an internet radio show called The Round Table Discussions on Fish Bowl Radio. This was my first opportunity to prove myself and show the world I was naturally funny and I was meant to do this. I made a big impression on people because in 2015, eight months pregnant with my first born, I was nominated and won best co-host of the year award. The best feeling ever!!!
At that very moment, I started building my platform and started my own business called Shaunie B Entertainment. I was never that type of person who masterminded one thing. I wanted to learn everything my mind allowed. Hence, I self-trained on how to bartend and dj events. Shortly after I gave birth to my son, I had to put everything on hold to take care of my son. Being a mother, a full-time employee, and a wife is no joke. During this time, I found out my mother had stage four colon cancer. Now my world was spiraling out of control the person who took care of me was slowly dying. The chemo took a toll on my mother within two months she lost her ability to move and talk and she became hospice-bound. At that very moment, my depression kicked in. The same joy of laughter that I brought others had escaped me and I found myself in a dark place unable to even smile. My mother was always my biggest supporter and she was so happy to see me progressing with my dream of being a famous entertainer.
The day the pastor came to pray with her, I knew it wouldn’t belong. I told my mother, I will be famous and you will be proud. With the little strength, she had left, she grabbed my hand a squeezed it. The next morning she passed away. So when people ask me, why are you so busy? Why do you grind so much? I made a vow to my mother that I would not stop until my name is in the spotlights. Since December 26, 2016, In the passing of my mother Ms. V. Shaunie B has gone from a radio personality co-host /tv personality to a well known female comedian in the DFW metroplex. Fast forward to April 2019, I conquered my ultimate challenge: the title of becoming a partner with YouTube. This is my year to go to the top and beyond. Remember “It’s your girl Shaunie B and If ya cool with ya girl fool with ya girl” ..If you see me you are blessed to see another day and you are rocking with one of the best, YES!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has it been a smooth road? HECK NO! There are so many obstacles that keep you second guessing if this is your destiny and does will this journey bring me joy and happiness.
Fear will always make you feel like you are not worthy enough. Negative energy from society will keep you doubting your visions. Employment will snatch up all of your free time. Finances will postpone how you make yourself available.
But if you are hungry for success, these things will only be viewed as excuses to hold you back. You have to challenge yourself because nothing will be handed to you. No one will feel sorry for you. You have to prove yourself. Point. Blank. Period!

What sets me apart from others? I want everyone to win. There is not a selfish bone in my body. I am always extending myself to help others and I honestly love entertaining no matter what. I appreciate everyone who shows me love and I don’t do it for the money. I do it because this is my calling. This is my passion. God blessed me with the ability to bring joy through laughter, so that is EXACTLY what I plan to do.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I broke my arm riding in a broken wagon with my childhood friend. My friend’s mother had to go to work overnight but before she left, she told us don’t mess with the wagon. She never explained why so it made us more curious, so we tampered with it anyway. We went up and down the hill at least ten times with me being in the front and my friend being in the back of the wagon. All of a sudden, the handle gave out on the wagon and we were going full speed with no way to stop approaching a parked car. There was A hatched back car on the right side of the road. I had no choice, I didn’t want to hit my head on the front of the car, so I used my arm as shield to protect my head from hitting the front bumper/hood. We were so scared to tell our parents that I was hurt that I walked around with a broken arm for a week self-medicating with Tylenol. One day, my 4th-grade teacher squeezed my arm and I yelled out so loud that they knew something was wrong. I was rushed to the hospital and put in a cast. To this day, it is unknown if our parents knew the real reason behind my broken arm.
