Today we’d like to introduce you to Alishia Marion.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Alishia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I went to school for cosmetology in 2009 and graduated in 2010. I became licensed in 2011. My love for fashion and beauty was always there, however, it quickly burned out when it came to hair. I worked in salons for two years but still couldn’t find that fulfillment that I needed. I quickly found myself mixed in with the wrong crowd. In 2013 I was released from prison and knew that I had to make some changes. I was always into lashes but never knew lash careers existed. I researched lash extensions. That’s how I received my first service, Felicia, owner of Mink Me Lashes in Memphis was my lash lady, we talked throughout me becoming a loyal client and she encouraged me to take a training. I did, and it was horrible. Felicia became my mentor and over a period of researching for six months, and 18 hours a day, I found Frankie Widdows Eyelash Excellent. I wasn’t able to find any products that I liked, so I wanted to create my own line. My husband gave me $1000 and I turned it into $200000 in less than one year. Frankie’s course changed my life. Throughout this course, I’ve mastered the industry. I am a trainer myself but I believe in creating competition or business partners.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My biggest challenge was attending two schools at the same time. I wanted to be a judge as a kid. I am now enrolled in a bachelors program for criminal justice. I need to know the laws for my business. I also went back to school to obtain my instructor’s license while getting my degree and running my business. I will never do that again!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about The Royal Lash Academy – what should we know?
My company has a 100% satisfactory rate. My products are specially formulated by myself. They cannot be duplicated. I train my students to be better than me because the student should always be better than the teacher. Read, study, and learn everything that’s important to you.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My husband, Allen Marion, has taught me how to master social media. My mentor, Felicia Hayes, she’s held my hand throughout the changes in my life. My mentor, Dominique Clark, she’s picked me up at my lowest points. My friends Brittany Marshall and Kiera Wide, they know how to handle me and keep me focused. My friend Arscenio Morgan, he believed in me and gave me an opportunity to work in his shop to master this industry when I had no idea what I was doing.
