Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaianah Matthew.
Jaianah, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born on October 14, 1992, in San Diego, CA. As a kid, I fell in love with basketball. The love I shared with my brother Ziggy who drowned at the age of 15, the summer before my 12-grade year. Losing my brother pushed me to make my dreams a reality. During my senior year of high school, I was ranked All-Region and All-State. It helps me get excepted to East Central Community College where I played my first two years of college ball. I went on to play for Mississippi College Women’s Basketball team and studied in the field of Kinesiology.
I was able to segway my basketball popularity into modeling. It was during an interview with a Dallas D.J. that I revealed that I could sing. This created some buzz and a Publicist submitted an article about me the to Heavy Rotation Magazine. The Editor-In-Chief, Tigga Pat wanted to know more about me and arranged a meet and greet.
As a child, I sang in the choir in my parent’s church, I have never seen myself being an artist. Because basketball had my heart, but music always been a part of me. Only a few close friends knew that I could sing. Growing up, my musical influences was Aaliyah, T.L.C., Teyana Taylor and Chris Brown. Their sound was and is pure and has that vibe… I want my music to bring that feeling.
Raised by parents who are military vets, I bring to the table the discipline of an athlete and the body of one too! My fashion influences are Dej Loaf & Teyana Taylor. When asked what inspires my look, I gotta have “Swag.”
I have two new single “Impatient.”
“HESITATION” is inspired by Life Experiences I hope the song will help people heal from past relationships or give them the courage to follow their dreams. My sound is soulful but fresh, I hope that young girls from every background will be inspired by my music. I believe my music also the talent that God has blessed me to be able to do. I want people to come along for the ride and be a part of the journey.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I take everything as an experience that has built me to where I am going. Sometimes, those obstacles and challenges can be so much as who you surround yourself around and also your mindset. I believe that your mindset is one of the biggest challenges. I believe you can only stop you. Once you know who you are and you are focus on the end goal, nothing and nobody can stop you.

Jai Humble Entertainment is a company that is used for anything that you need from film production, TV production, Video Production, Modeling, Music.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory as a child was being able to compete with the guys on the basketball court when they would underestimate me because I was a girl.
