Today we’d like to introduce you to Tan and Brittany Peete.
Tan and Brittany, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
A muted three-way conversation in high school forever bonded Tan and Be. They’ve shared highs and lows and loves and losses. What you get with Hear Ye Podcast is the life lived in between. The local Hometown Homegirls give unfiltered conversation surrounding pop culture, politics, and everything in between. Each week, they provide their raw advice answering questions from their listeners on topics ranging from dating advice to coping with everyday life.
Tan, the oldest of four girls, is the rock and the pillar. Mama from Louisiana, Daddy from Nigeria, you can find her twerking to Big Freedia or dancing to Wizkid. She is the level headed friend, the one you can always go to with any issues and she gives you the best advice. She’s quick-witted and always ready for the educated clap back.
Be. represents Memphis, TN where they jump gates. She moved to Texas in the 8th grade and learned to appreciate chopped and screwed music and brisket. In high school, Be. started writing urban erotic novels that garnered a lot of positive (some negative) attention and it was there that she learned to think creatively.
The podcast was all Tan’s idea. She saw the vision and knew just how magical the two could be. The conversations they have are real conversations the duo would have any Friday night with a glass of wine. Hear Ye is your wind down at the end of a crazy week. Just getting started in events, Tan and Be. bring the relaxed energy of kicking it with the homies. You can catch these two every Friday on your favorite podcast platform.
Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Throughout the last two years, we have overcome both personal and professional struggles. Everything from loss of a loved one to thoughts of whether to continue with the podcast. We have remained persistent and continued to push forward and provide amazing content each week. We have watched our listeners grow from only a couple hundred to now in the thousands. This gives us the motivation to continue to push forward and overcome any obstacles thrown our way.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Hear Ye Podcast – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
We are a weekly podcast that discusses everything from current events to pop culture topics. Each week provide a chance for our listeners a break from reality and the opportunity to join one of our many every day conversations. What sets us apart is that we have a deeply rooted bond between us. The sisterhood you can hear and feel in our episodes is genuine.
