Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Davis.
Kelly, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up in Dallas, and I love it here! Dallas has a vibrant nightlife and always has new restaurants and bars to explore. I received my business degree from SMU and a law degree from the University of Wyoming. While I enjoy practicing law, I have developed other interests and hobbies in my spare time. One of these interests is Instagram – I cannot get enough! I spend so much time on Instagram that I consider it my hobby. I am fascinated by how people cultivate an account on Instagram that attracts attention and interest, and which ultimately turns into a business for many.
In turn, I wanted to develop my own niche on Instagram so I started la vie en frosé as a creative outlet to express my interests outside of practicing law. I primarily showcase various cocktails on la vie en frosé paired with a creative caption.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Of course, it is challenging! I am a new account on Instagram, learning as I go. Not only do I experiment with different techniques to get the best photograph, I create captions that correspond with the photograph. I find this task to be one of the biggest challenges because I have learned that crafting the caption is just as important as “getting the right shot.” It is all about creating content that will “pop” and makes your account stand out from the millions of others.
La Vie en Frosé – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from others?
The name of my Instagram blog, la vie en frosé, is meant to indicate “life through (f)rose-colored glasses.” I believe that life is better with frosé! Maybe you are wondering what frosé is exactly…it is frozen rosé. If you haven’t tried it, you’re missing out!
While I primarily feature frosé on la vie en frosé, I enjoy many different cocktails and believe the right cocktail should be paired with the right occasion. For example, another favorite of mine is the French 75, which I feature on la vie en frosé as well! It tends to be served in a martini glass or champagne flute which lends itself to a more elegant occasion.
There is something special about cocktails. The perfect cocktail sparkles and lights up a room. Cocktails bring people together to enjoy life. My hope for la vie en frosé is that it makes people smile. It helps people unwind after work and gives them a chance to relax and enjoy life. I am a strong believer in enjoying life, and what better way to enjoy life than with cocktails…cheers!
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as enjoying what you are working on, and waking up every day motivated to work on it to make it better. In turn, I believe personal growth will be achieved. For example, I have learned that an Instagram account takes a long time to grow. It could take a while before anyone notices it. While I hope my account, la vie en frosé, reaches as many people as possible, whether it has ten followers or 10,000 followers, I am going to keep posting and making it better every day because I enjoy creating content. I enjoy showcasing cocktails and using their power to bring people together and enrich their lives.
