Thanks for sharing your story with us Troetta. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started Mad About Maddie in January of 2018. I had originally planned for Mad About Maddie to be a parenting blog that illustrated my journey and thoughts through motherhood. Which it was for several months.
But that all changed April of 2018 when my relationship ended. I found myself single and in need of a new career.
That summer, as I focused on God and His plans for me, my career and plans for Mad About Maddie changed.
Mad About Maddie has transformed from a simple parenting blog to a Christian blog and online store on Motherhood and Faith.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our road has had many ups and downs. Balance and discernment have been most of our obstacles.
Being a single parent is not an easy feat. Particularly when you have a full time (educator) and part-time (athletic trainer) job. I’ve struggled with finding the correct balance and time management between my career, Mad About Maddie, and being present with Madison.
When Mad About Maddie transitioned into a blog on Faith and what the Holy Spirit teaches me through being a mother, I initially found myself worrying about delivering God’s words in my voice to my audience. But I’ve gotten the hang of things now!
Please tell us about Mad About Maddie – what should we know?
Mad About Maddie is a Christian blog and now online store.
My blog posts are written about the similarities between motherhood and walking with Christ.
Madison will often do or say something that reminds me of what it’s like as a Christian. As crazy as I am about Madison (hence the name), God is even more crazy about us. I decided to share those things with my followers with the hopes of bringing someone closer to God.
In our online store, we currently have a growing line of apparel for sale.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Identity is essential to success. You have to know who you are. Not who people tell or think you are. Know who you are so you can do what God has called you to do.
