Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Volpicella.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Amanda. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a mother to three beautiful children, an Army Veteran, A Sergeant in a Detention Facility, Bikini and Swimsuit Competitor. I do modeling on the side and hope to one day make it a full-time job. I began competing for an NPC Bikini Competition after I had given birth to my last child. I had gained 61lbs and had begun my journey with Alopecia Areata after an incident had happened. I told myself I needed some positivity in my life and turned to fitness to look for it. After my 1st competition, I became Miss Bikini West Texas and went on to Nationals in Miami for the Miss Bikini US Pageant. I am currently In their Bikini Tribe Calendar for 2019 and 2020. I love getting on stage, it’s a rush and though I still to this day get nervous; it is truly a passion for me. Recently, I had the honor of being chosen out of 2000 women across the United States to walk in the Angel Competition Bikini Fashion Show 2019. It was absolutely amazing to be around so many empowering women. I’m still pushing forward every day to reach my dreams. I believe in not giving up, even when things are not in your favor or seem impossible.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been easy, everything I have done I’ve had to do on my own. I also live about two hours away from the Dallas area. Most of the time, I am having to drive hours just for a photoshoot.
What else should we know about your modeling work and what you’re currently focused on?
As an individual, I believe photographers know that I’m willing to make the drive to the photoshoots. I think it goes a long way business wise when both parties are considerate of each other. If the model invests their time into the photographer, then the photographer should do the same.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think that would start over, even though there is much still to learn I think our struggles make us who we are. Our road is our story.
