Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Wilson.
Monique, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have been into fitness and attending local gyms consistently after graduating Highschool. I kept that routine over the years after seeing the results and being proud of the progress from hard work and dedication. The gym and working out, in general, became a lifestyle, an addiction, stress reliever, and a positive way to improve while having that time to myself. I would often try to convince friends and family to also incorporate a healthier, more active lifestyle too. Some took to the wave others not so much, but I kept it going. I later had a child and was pretty successful with getting back to my pre-baby body. I credited that all to the gym and muscle memory. 6yrs later, I had my second child, and of course, I was older, and my metabolism had slowed down a bit, but I didn’t allow that to stop me. I decided that during my journey to get my pre-pregnancy body back, that I would start a motivational fitness page on Instagram after several friends and influencers inspired me. I started the page to inspire others along their journey as well. I began recording my workouts and offering tips and advice on eating better and workouts that really help Mothers like myself see real results. I posted pictures of the progress often. The Instagram page took off really fast. I noticed my following growing rapidly month by month as I shared my journey and showed my progress. I began studying and taking courses to further my certification and knowledge of fitness and nutrition. I launched my website and started my LLC. I began personal training Men and women to help them reach their goal as well. My Instagram ultimately reached over 100k followers in just over a year. I continue to motivate, inspire, and provide workout plans as well as meal plans to my clients.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We all have obstacles that can stand in our way, but my goal was to show others that no matter what we must find time for ourselves. It was not always easy when you have children, work, and your significant other dividing your time and focus with. I’m a Business owner and Mother with a family that needs me, so it was not easy to find time to work out or even the motivation to work out after a full day. But I had to make a decision that would accommodate my needs and wants as well. So I decided to get up earlier while the kids are sleeping in order to make time to exercise. Or I would go workout later that night after putting them in bed for my time. Some days I would just use my children as my weights at home as I did lunges with them on my back or around my waste. I would curl my little one, and he would love it. I made it a family event at times, but I made no excuses.
We’d love to hear more about your business.

It starts within.
Trust me. If I can do it, you can too!
What were you like growing up?
I was a very fun-loving, energetic kid. I loved running and riding bikes when I wasn’t playing barbies. I have always had a fun, competitive spirit when it came to games or sports. I grew up with an older brother and younger sister. They kept me tough but grounded with being the middle child. I have always been active, ambitious, and curious. I was always the type that would be easily inspired by something and used that to propel my goals and encourage others. I was a pretty responsible kid, thanks to my Mom, who taught me a lot. She has the biggest heart and still the strongest person I know. I studied some of those great characteristics added to it! Strong is beautiful
