Meet Niesha Johnson of Biz-N-Brunch in Lower Greenville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Niesha Johnson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Niesha. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Abuse struck as a young girl; forcing me into a dark shell & an angry place. I’ve had to readjust & realign every part of my being to be the woman that I am today, which explains why I’m so big on giving back & pouring out love into my community especially to my young girls. I know what it’s like to feel alone, abandoned, suicidal all of it. My purpose for being on this earth is to tell my story & train up young girls in a positive manner so that they may in return pour love back into the same communities. With the Biz- N- Brunch Platform, I host workshops that focuses not only on the outer work to getting things done but also the mental, emotional & spiritual aspect of things as well. If everything is in alignment, then there is little to no room for slip-ups.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Obstacles are placed in our life to keep us pushing so it definitely has not been a smooth road. I’d say my biggest struggle have been transforming my mind & deciding to stand in who I am so that I could even get the platform going. Once the mind, body & spirit are on one accord, it is then smooth sailings. Of course, on any ride there are a few bumps but the way that you choose to view the obstacle is what matters the most. Remember, there is a lesson in every obstacle if you choose to see it.

Please tell us about Biz-N-Brunch.
Biz-N-Brunch Non-Profit was established in 2017 with the sole purpose of teaching and giving- “When you get Give, when you learn, Teach.” We host workshops such as Business Etiquette 101, College Prep 101, Effective Goal setting, Financial literacy, etc. anything that will gain you knowledge basically. I’m a firm believer that “Knowledge applied is Power” so I want to equip as many from the younger generation with as much knowledge as possible.

I’m most proud of the feedback that I receive from the young girls that I’ve worked with. Receiving a “Thank you” text or a mailed note that “I’ve encouraged them & increased their self-esteem” is worth so much more than money to me. My willingness to inspire & be as transparent as possible is what sets me apart. I feel that my honesty is what helps me to create a bond with the girls which in return allows for them to trust me & what I’m instilling into them.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory is Sunday mornings; breakfast with my mom & sisters which then turned into pamper day because my mother is a Licensed Cosmetologist. Hair, skin & nails was an ideal Sunday for me lol. After all of that, we would have play day outside, go fishing, BBQ, movie date and the list goes on. So, any memory from a Sunday is ultimately my favorite.
