Today we’d like to introduce you to Rashunda Hildredth.
Rashunda, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started my travel business because… Very simple… I love travel, lol. As a kid, I did not get to travel as much. My family is from a small town so that’s where I went during the summertime and really just hung out with my grandmother.. living the best life I knew how to at that time. So as an adult, I started to travel more and saw that there was more than just what Dallas or Texas for that matter had to offer. Once I had my daughter, I realized that I wanted her to see those different things as a child so that it could broaden her horizons and her thought process in life in general. Throughout this journey of creating this business and cultivating experiences for my clients, it has allowed me to express my true passion of sharing those experiences with everyone. You know like..what living life in a different culture a different environment will do to your perspective of how you live.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Define smooth? LOL. I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth road because there’s been a lot to learn. Travel is not something that you can… well I take that back… you can go and do a bunch of webinars and learn about this and learn about that but at the end of the day it’s all about experiencing it for yourself in most cases so that your client can understand and trust you with their coins. Lol I really enjoy speaking to clients that have never cruised before… Calming their nerves and educating them on different aspects of the cruise life.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Mocha Sky Travel – what should we know?
So Mocha Sky travel was founded in 2017 and was created with women’s visions and desires to explore the world in mind. Whether it’s for an intimate group or hundreds, we specialize in curating exclusive group trips for women who want to experience new countries and cultures through travel! My company specializes in cruises and all-inclusive Caribbean vacations along with Disney and Universal Family vacations.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I am a firm believer of it taking a village not just to raise a child but to also support of someone with their dreams. And I definitely have a circle of people that will keep me on the right track, motivate me and inspire me to be great on a constant basis. From my sistars (friends turned sisters) to my family, to the strangers I’ve met along the way that have now become like family. I have been blessed to come across great mentors that have poured into so I make sure to pay it forward when I can. I’m a firm believer that there’s room for everyone.
