Today we’d like to introduce you to Lianne Duong.
Lianne, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Accents is a boutique located in Dallas, TX. I started my career in healthcare and soon realized that it is not my passion. I knew in my heart that I was meant to be an entrepreneur and my own boss, so I went on a journey to find myself and somewhere I fit in. I acquired the business a little a year ago and learned so much through the process. I’m still learning every single day. Juggling my corporate job and this business hasn’t been easy, but I know that this is just the beginning of an amazing life ahead of me. I plan to eventually transition out of the healthcare industry and become a business owner of multiple companies.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I struggled at the beginning coming from a different industry but I had a great mentor that helped me through the transition. There are ups and downs in owning a business. Understanding that nothing will be perfect helps me cope when dealing with difficult situations.

I am the owner of Accents, a women’s clothing boutique located at Dallas. We feature a curated collection of the trendy, eclectic mix of emerging indie, known, and local brands to bring a fresh blend of frequently rotating merchandise you won’t find elsewhere. We believe your style should reflect the unique and interesting aspects of your life. New merchandise arrives weekly and we receive limited quantities of each style to keep things fresh.

My mentor, Lucy, was the previous owner and has been my mentor since the beginning of the acquisition. I couldn’t have done this successfully without her and I am very grateful.
