Meet T’yonna Boswell of Tyonna Alexis Tv in Dallas and Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to T’yonna Boswell.

T’yonna, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The idea of starting my own youtube came my Freshman year of college. I struggled with my classes and the transition from high school into college life. Once I started doing well in my academics and becoming more and more involved on campus in student leadership my sophomore year, that is where my idea came from.

I received so much feedback from my peers about how well of a mentor I am, so I decided to take my mentorship onto a bigger platform, and national level! I told myself that when I started my Youtube Channel, I wanted it to contain substance. Substance being a source of help for your people, and an inspirational role model that leads by example. That is where the development of my three pillars came from, that my Youtube Channel is centered around. Those pillars are College, Motivation, and Lifestyle. Every upload on my channel will contain either motivational speaking and encouragement for young people interested in going to college, college life and activities, or simply my lifestyle to give my channel a personal dynamic also. This is how I was able to start my channel in January 2019 and have over 18,000 views as of today.

Has it been a smooth road?
Starting my channel was not easy. I contemplated for almost six months searching for the “right” time. Because I was discouraged. I do not have the largest social media following, but it is growing! And being completely honest, there is no “right” time to start a Youtube channel. It just has to be a time you decide to take that step of courage and do it! Do it without the concern of a support system, or judgement of the world. If you wait for validation, you will never reach for your goals!

Tell us more about your work.
What I believe makes my channel so unique is that I don’t have content that people would expect when they hear me say “I am a Youtuber.” I did not want to do the typical makeup or pranks. I wanted my channel to be something that family and friends could watch. I had the motive that if I make my channel informational, and fun at the same time, young people would enjoy sharing it with their friends, and want to subscribe to my channel to see more of what I have in store.

I am the most proud of being able to be a person that young people can reach out to regarding their plans of attending college. I get so much positive feedback from not only my peers but high school students excited to start a new journey of their lives! it makes me so delighted to know so many people look up to me and trust my advice although they have never met me personally.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the future, I plan on graduating college and going to different high schools to do motivational speaking, and college preparatory! I can express my passion for helping young people, and I am determined to make a difference in other’s lives as a guide to the path of success. Mentorship has always been a major part of me, and to be able to travel and tell about my youtube channel is definitely a goal of mine.
